My wolf spider suddenly decided to spin a web in a corner and she hides behind it. Does not move, and does not show any interest in catching whatever gets stuck in it. She took 2 days to build it. I have no fucking idea what's going on. Help!
Might it be a nest?
There. She keeps spinning web once in a while
And here you can see her behind the web. It's a small place.
This last shot was taken with flash so you could see the density of the web she made at the base.
She's making a cocoon in preparation to undergo metamorphosis into a brown recluse.
for real, wtf is going on
(that's her in the pic)

Are you scared of her? She looks intimidating.
>>2124453
nop, not at all
>>2124455
Did she ever bite you?
>>2124457
never
Please help, I'm worried about her. Because of this she isn't eating anything. And I don't want to disrupt whatever she's doing, because I don't know what's that for or why she's doing it
Spiders can go a week or more without eating and be fine. I wouldn't worry too much.

Alright. But I still want to know why she's doing it, and there doesn't seem to be an end to this. She just keeps spinning web once in a while, and that web is just getting thicker and thicker over time.
DON'T bother her
Watch for a egg sack on her in the meantime
>>2124483
Wait what, really? This girl's gonna lay eggs?
>>2124486
She could definitely pass for pregnant in those last few pictures.
She could just be molting but that'd be pretty weird.
>>2124490
I thought she was just getting fat, since she was eating well lately. And I haver her for over a month now.
This morning I woke up to this
>>2124788
A blurry photo?
>>2124793
Yeah sorry about that, but my cam is shit. However, you can see that huge white ball of web underneath her, and her abdomen is got smaller too.

Youre going to be a father anon!

*mother
Small update on this.
It seems she completed the nest in the last 2 days, and now she's just maintaining it. Most of the time she's over the nest, as if taking guard and protecting it. Considering she layed eggs 2 days ago, how much longer should I expect for these spiderlings to come out?

>how much longer should I expect for these spiderlings to come out?
You should be able to expect them from the crawling sensation in your ear when you wake up tomorrow morning.
>>2126149
have you googled woolfspider reprodution? might be better than deeling with /an/. btw that awesomely creepy spider.
>>2126149
Probably a couple of weeks. You're going to have to figure out what to do with them, because they'll probably all die in the enclosure.
>>2126159
I've already decided. I'm going to free them once they hatch
>>2126159
How's she gonna survive for weeks, btw?
She won«t leave the nest for nothing, right? She won't be able to hunt and get some food for her own.
>>2126166
You're doing Satan's work
>>2126166
Why are you doing this? Are there any big spiders where you live? I would kill it with a fucking flamethrower if I saw something like that in my house.
>>2124401
Clear cut, stone cold case of depression, just be there for wolfy
>>2126391
