Hey /an/, /vp/ here. This pic is from a new Pokemon S&M trailer. Theres a new pokemon spotted on the left in front of the human NPC, and we were wondering if you could help figure out what animal its based on.
Keep in mind the game region is based on Hawaii, but that doesn't necessarily mean it has to be based on a Hawaiian native species.

Hawaii's only native land mammal is a bat species.
It just looks like a dog or something, probably this gens early generic mammal equivalent. I'd be tempted to say it looks like it could evolve into a fennec fox, but we just had fennekin last gen so probably not.
