Every pet store I've been to sells these cat harnesses, but I've never seen anyone actually walking a cat in my life.
>>
>>2119562
a neighbor of mine had a bengal cat he would walk through a wood trail with and let it explore a few feet in either direction
>>
>>2119515
Because it's a sex thing, you're supposed to be aroused

>>2119562
I have. My friend adopted a stray cat she found, walks were a great alternative to letting him continue to roam wild. Coolest cat I've ever met.
>>
>>2119562
I've seen a couple. Two of them being bengels. I myself used to walk my regular moggie black cat and while he was calm about dogs, people, etc. I trained him to get on my shoulders if a dog was bothering him. But if someone rev'd their engine too hard he would just flip so I only take him out in the yard. It happened to often that it seemed too much of a risk.

I think cats take much longer to walk too. Dogs are happy to run with you but cats take their sweet fucking time and happily just give up to roll around for no godamn reason. Makes me wonder if there is any cat breeds/hybrids that actually like jogging.
>>
>>2119515
the tag is petplay I believe.
>>
I used to have a massive freaking iguana I would take for "walks" in the summer. He would either run through grass gobbling up clover and flowers and bugs or he would bask on hot sidewalks. There was no in between. We would either running or doing nothing.
>>
>>2119562
I have a coworker that takes his cat for walks every day. When he jingles the leash, she gets excited and runs to the door.

Personally, I've never had a cat like that, or seen one.

Here is a pic I took of a dude walking his pet full grown pig in the middle of Silicon Valley.

If you aren't familiar, there aren't a lot of pigs here
>>
>>2119562
They walk really slow more akin to stalking

my s/o's sister's ex had a cat that she took on walks...

i put a harness on the family cat once to see how that'd work out, he just rolled over on his side and wouldn't move so i felt like i was just being an asshole and left him alone... did it cuz my mother was weird about letting him go on the porch and shit (scared he was gonna run off) 'til she realized the most he does is walk down the steps to eat grass and never actually goes anywhere...

i take my bird out with a harness though...

I saw a girl walk her cat a few weeks ago and gave her a thumbs up.

Anything even slightly unconventional must be kept hidden 24/7.

This bitch is seriously delusional. I love reptiles but she's asking to get her face eaten.

I walked my turtle once with a makeshift harness around her shell when she was smaller. it was only around the backyard though

>>
>>2119562
I let my cat explore on leash sometimes, he enjoys the smells and is quite well behaved.
My other cat we tried training just runs under cars and bikes as soon as he gets out.
>>
>>2120028
How long does their instinct for being grabbed by the neck last?
>>
>>2120233
You can train them out of it but some will still flop over for a long time.
>>

It looks like the harness is just doing that then. I imagine cats would rather spaz out if restrained like that
>>
>>2119847

Seriously?

How do you domesticate it like that?
>>
i saw someone walking a duck. Like a legit yellow duck. Wish i took a pic
>>
>>2119715
FYI that is not a full-grown Pig that is a miniature pig. Full grown Pig can way 300 to 500 pounds and they stand 3.5 feet tall
>>
>>2119562
I put my cat on a leash for if I let him out on the balcony unsupervised. Once he gets bored and runs inside it take it off him. He goes crazy if he has a harness or collar on indoors, but doesn't give a shit if it's on him outdoors
>>
>>2120270

Cats are weird, man.
>>
>>2119873
Fuck. This looks so badass. Of course, he probably died because that's a wild fucking animal, and a particularly mean species at that

Does anyone know how well he actually managed to care for it? I bet he hired someone to do all the work.

>>
>>2120724
That otter obviously wants to go upstairs. She keeps pulling it down.
>>
My stupid cat loves it outdoors at my moms place, so I bought a leash for taking him outdoors at my place and once outside he acts like a huge pussy and goes to the door wanting back inside
>>
>>2120724
I wish we had a way to truly domesticate otters like ferrets, they would be so cool to have as pets

When i was a kid we tried putting a harness and leash on our old forest cat. We were going away for a while and didn't have anyone to watch him during that time. We figured we'd simply bring him along and give him walkies.

He didn't mind it at first but as soon as my mom took him outside he flipped his shit to the nth degree.
Do you know that Goldeneye bug with the anime song? It was like that, just 10 seconds of absolute insanity ending in my mom holding a limp leash with an empty harness at the end and the cat fucking off at mach 10 into the woods. She's an experienced vet and quite used to dealing with cats freaking out but she said she'd never seen something like that.

We had to leave without him in the end but he was fine. Our neighbor left some food out for him but he didn't touch it for over a week. When we came home he showed up like 2 days later like nothing had happened.
>>
>>2121634
It wasn't his pet, just used it for the pic as far as I know.

But he was a special snowflake, no matter the pet he had.
>>
>>2119873
Oh.
>>
>>2122812
>it's not a double standard if it wasn't explicitly stated
That's usually how it goes, anon
>>
>>2119562
I started harness training my cat that I used to have when he was a kitten and he did mostly alright outside. He was really chill to begin with though, but you can get most cats harness trained within a month or two.

Most people just forget that leashes don't always equate to doglike behavior. Cats do not really want to follow you, they want to do their own thing and it takes a lot of patience and time on your end.
>>
>tfw part of my job it to take a skunk on walks

desu I would actually love to have a pet anteater. They're so freaking cute
>>

Animal tech, I look after rescued animals.
>>
>>2119562
My cat loooves going for walks on his harness. He runs to the door and knows he gets to nibble on grass.
>>
I put one of my bearded dragons on a harness and let him walk around outside. He likes to sit outside and catch some rays. On occasions he explores the deck. My other beardie flips his shit when I take him outside. He's scared of airplanes and the neighborhood finches.
The bearded dragon that I take outside is totally chill because his previous owner abandoned him and left him outside to fend for himself. So I guess he's use to the outside..

I think the dude's just treating the hyena as a dog with special needs.

Seen that logic applied to a fox over here, and I don't know how but it fucking worked. My landlord had a bunch of guard dogs and a fucking guard fox.

Do you honestly think Paris would allow someone to own an anteater as a pet? These are the same people who ban certain kinds of dog breeds.
