I keep seeing these blue birds with an orange belly. Birds scare the shit out of me, but these ones are really pretty. What kind are they?

If it's a bluebird, it's an Eastern. Michigan is in its breeding range, and its that time of year.

No, I meant is this the bird you saw. Most songbirds aren't aggressive, but jays can get nasty if you get near their nest.

Looked like it. I didnt get a good look at the other bird but it was pretty surreal just seeing a bird literally drop out of the air and just die.
Needless to say i collected its bones and still have its skull.
