Feeding day for Hermann
Just set up Gaia's new vivarium. Not QUITE done as I'd like to get some LED lights in there but other than that it's great.

My new hognose is all anger.
>>2113077
Less than 24 hours in the new viv and she's feeding.
>>2113113
I also enjoy milk snakes.
>>2113511
Nonsense, they're are great for handling!
>when you get a piebald for $250
I just caught this Natrix natrix, I love this species
The play dead upon being grabbed, as you can see. They also musk like hell but never bite.
Shortly after putting her down again, she slithered away relatively quick, considering it is cold as fuck right now
She apparently is in shed and has an old wound.

Give him a kiss, Anon.

also, just out of curiousity:
is this scale rot or what?
Sorry, if it is obvious, but I never saw scale rot in person before, so I don't really know what it looks like.
Considering the weather here is far too cold and wet for this time of the year, I thought she might have a problem because of this.

Looks like the snake is rotting from the inside
>>2114431
wow, sounds not so great for the snake..
But is that even possible? If so, how?
>>2114586
Nah I was just stressing out the fact that the rot looks really bad.
>>2114625
oh, sorry
well, seems like my reading comprehension failed me there
So, do you know what might be the cause of the rotting scales?
>>2114643
Temperature, humidity, would be it for a wild snake. A captive snake will get scale rot for these reasons and if the enclosure is left dirty as fuck.
I'm guessing this snake has been slithering around in mud for too long.
