I mean animals are cool and all and I'm fascinated with the taxanomy and biology but they are just animals at the end of the day...

for me, this is true. I have autism and i really love my cat. someone i know recently said that's because animals take you the way you are, and you don't have to act in ways that might not make sense in your understanding of the world and social interaction
