I honestly dislike all great apes (except maybe bonobos).

They are too similar to humans, you can totally see where we got all our asshole tendencies from.

>>2108617 is a good example of great ape assholery.
>>
>>2108648

It's basically humans with autism. And I don't use that word in an edgy sense. I mean literally. They have all the symptoms of high functioning autism. From absence of societal norms, to the inability to show empathy towards other living creatures, to the uncontrollable mood swings. Or maybe 'drunk humans' was a better comparison ...
>>
>>2108656
>to the inability to show empathy towards other living creatures

you're thinking of sociopaths, not autists.
>>
>>2108659
>you're thinking of sociopaths, not autists
most autistic people are psychopaths.
It's hard to empathize with someone you can't understand.
>>
>>2108648
Unless I'm mistaken, those were bonobos in the webm. Chimps are bigger and have fairer skin.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
>>
>>2108673
autists don't have issues empathizing, they just have issues with the outcome.

you're not an autist, you're a sociopath.
>>
>>2108680
>they just have issues with the outcome.
not sure what you mean by that.
>you're not an autist, you're a sociopath
sociopath hasn't been a diagnosis since the 70's, back when Aspergers was called autistic psychopathy.

since you're using 1970's psychology, autism is psychopathy.
>>
>>2108686
>sociopath hasn't been a diagnosis since the 70's
you're thinking of psychopathy, it's called sociopathy now.
>>
>>2108689
they were both replaced by ASPD before you were born.

>>2108693
nah, it's either PDD-NOS or ASPD now.

people with PDD-NOS have no issues with empathy.

>>you're thinking of sociopaths, not autists.

No, that is autism. It is incredibly difficult for someone with autism to have empathy. I have high-functioning autism, aka Aspergers. I don't have a romantic bond with my wife. I have no bond with the dog that's lived with me for 5 years, the cat for 6 years, the gerbils for 2 years, the snake for 2 years. I have no bond with my brothers, sisters, or stepmother I lived with 18 years. I have a bond with my dad, though. I have a complicated bond with my wife.

I have killed 5 animals with shady reasoning. Not NO reason, just not a GOOD reason. I feel nothing when thousands of people die. I really just don't give a fuck about anyone unless they directly affect my life someone. I think if the world was scrubbed of all the useless people (like, 80%), we could do incredible things as a race. And if the button was in front of me, I'd push it.

You get the idea. That's autism. All people with autism lack empathy that borders on sociopathic tendencies.
>>
>>2108829
Retrievers are like that.
>>
>>2108700
I'm a sperg and I empathize plenty, only with animals though.
>>
>>2109215
>It is incredibly difficult for someone with autism to have empathy.

it isn't, they just have trouble expressing it.

>I have high-functioning autism, aka Aspergers

yes, so do I or atleast did, I was recently re-diagnosed with sociopathy.

since aspergers doesn't exist anymore that's likely what you'll get as result as well.

>>2109236
that's often the case.
>>
>>2109259
>I was recently re-diagnosed with sociopathy
sociopathy isn't a diagnosis anymore.

I just don't want other kids here to take anything you say seriously either.
>>
>>2109340
sociopathy isn't in the DSM-V because it's not a personality disorder.

it's still a diagnose.

Honestly, I used to work at a vet's office, and pugs had some of the blandest personalities. Maybe I just had bad luck or something. They were never mean, but they were boring and loud. Almost never friendly, and when I looked at their eyes, it was like there was nothing there. Like they were just hollow shells waiting patiently to die and rot. I actually used to like pugs until I met a bunch of them. But again, could just be bad luck on my part.

In my experience, you want sweetness, cavalier king charles spaniels. You want a cold bastard, akita or chow. You want personality, terriers, especially rat terriers, or a german pointer. You want a guardian and can handle some neuroticism, german shepherd. You want dog, retrievers.
>>
>>2110195
Maybe they were scared or overwhelmed by being at the vet? Seems like a situation dogs like that couldn't handle, maybe?
>>
>>2109259
>since aspergers doesn't exist anymore that's likely what you'll get as result as well.

Please try and keep up. Especially if you're going to try and claim you have something. Learn about it.

Aspergers, the term, does not exist anymore (except people that haven't adapted to the new classifications in DSMV yet). The CONDITION is now called high-functioning autism (level 1 autism) and has been folded into the spectrum completely.

I don't even know where the fuck you're getting this sociopathy shit from.

Dogs tend to have different personalities at the vet. It's almost hilarious.

>Sitting in waiting room
>Bouncy hyper spaniel is there
>Thing is fucking insane, tail wagging so hard it's going to fly off, charging at everybody who walks in
>Vet calls it in
>Spaniel happily walks round corner
>Sees vet
>Suddenly drops to the floor with a look of terror
>Refuses to stand up or move
>Owner has to drag it over the floor to consultation room
>Entire waiting room is in hysterics

Have you ever seen an autist that isn't high functioning? You'd understand why they are the high functioning ones if you had.
>>
>>2110807

My son has level 2 autism, which is mid-range. He can barely verbalize anything. And only the people who spend hours with him every day can understand it.

I have level 1, and can talk perfectly fine and form complete thoughts. But I still have no 'filter' and tend to say a lot of inappropriate things and inappropriate times

What ties them together is the neurological component that isn't noticeable to others. For example, I have attacked several people for eating loudly. One in the prescirption waiting area at Walgreens who was eatching chips (In fucking walgreens? Really?) and the other was in an elementary school office waiting area. The sound is unbearable to the point that it causes me to boil with rage when they won't stop. That is what you call a "Sensory Issue" ... other examples are common lights being way too bright and preferring dark rooms, the feel of rubbing against the grain on a freshly shaved face.

There's other components, like needing stuff organized and compartmentalized all the time, having trouble understanding accents, preferring the same style of clothes every day (I like short-sleeve pocketed shirts and loose khakis with a white undershirt and suspenders. Every fucking day), responding to jokes as if they were literal even if you know it was meant as humor, obsessing over things for weeks on end, constantly trying to please others, It's all neurological defects, and common ones in the spectrum.

Anyone can act autistic. But you can't be autistic without neurological issues.
>>
>>2110820

Also, we ramble. On and on. Never shut up. We don't notice when others are interested. (true story)

that's the thing, you only notice those that aren't high-functioning.

even if they have a form that's supposed to be 'high-functioning', they're often not.

take this guy for example.
>>2110820

that's not high-functioning, high functioning is someone that doesn't go around attacking people while shouting obscenities at them.
>>
>>2110829
>Thank you for reproducing your awful genes.

I would like you to venture a guess on when autism was first believed to have a genetic component. Guess the year. It hasn't even been a decade. It wasn't until recently that people figured out it wasn't solely environmental factors. And they STILL haven't figured out what causes it, because only part of the time does it show up in offspring, siblings, or parents. The occurrence is simply higher than when it happens to someone with no trace of it in their family tree.

No one knows jack shit about autism other than its current state. Where it comes from, how it started, how it's trigger, how to treat it, we got nothin'. We have behavioral therapy and a whole lot of good ideas.

People with aspergers having kids this century still had no idea it would or could be passed on.
>>
>>2110845
>you only notice those that aren't high-functioning.

You are so, so blind if you can spot someone with aspergers within 30 seconds of watching them. It's generally the people you think are just weird. The ones picked on in highschool for not blending in with others? I say 1 in 3 were aspergers.
>>
>>2110858
> It's generally the people you think are just weird.

being 'weird' doesn't mean you're not high-functioning.

attacking people while shouting obscenities does though.
>>
>>2110845
>that's not high-functioning, high functioning is someone that doesn't go around attacking people while shouting obscenities at them.

people with autism have incredibly powerful emotions. The only reason some appear to have none is that they're especially adept at shutting them down completely as a self-defense mechanism. They are generally considered to be extremely sensitive children who's emotions are easily hurt and cry alot. As they get older, they learn to block those emotions and the empathy that goes with it.

Anger is an emotion, last I checked. And people with autism have far more reactive and powerful emotions than you do. So yes, aggression is extremely common in people with autism. You can't tell me you've never seen someone with autism hit themselves. Ever seen Rain Man? I mean, c'mon man.

Where do you get this bad info from?

>>
>>2110864
>people with autism have incredibly powerful emotions.

no you're just overstimulated by normal ones.

you can learn how to deal with it, most don't, because most are looking for excuses rather than solutions.
>The only reason some appear to have none is that they're especially adept at shutting them down completely as a self-defense mechanism.
you're talking out of your ass and you know it.
>They are generally considered to be extremely sensitive children who's emotions are easily hurt and cry alot.
those children aren't high functioning.

they're low to mid functioning.

'aspergers' isn't high functioning autism, high functioning autism doesn't exist, high functioning individuals do though and you're not one of them.
>As they get older, they learn to block those emotions and the empathy that goes with it.
self taught sociopathy isn't a thing.
>So yes, aggression is extremely common in people with autism.
so is being low-functioning.

That's what makes the pug such a sad creature. They are sweet, lovely dogs with wonderful temperaments. The problem is that their bodies do not allow them to fully express that lovely nature. I've never met a nasty pug, but at the same time, I've never met a pug that was able to run and jump and play with other dogs in the way it truly wants to. It waddles awkwardly and has trouble turning at full speed. It cannot take large enough breaths to play for longer than a few minutes before needing to stop and recover. They have no muzzle to grab with and no neck with which to turn their heads. Something that should be nothing but joy and entertainment for a pug becomes an extreme struggle. It isn't fair. The pug does not deserve to be subjected to such a life. It deserves a nose to breathe through and a body that will support it.

>chimps
>absence of societal norms
This isn't true at all, though. Quite the opposite. It's true that they have a relatively violent society, and that groups are known to wage "war" against other groups. It's not true, however, that this violence would somehow mirror a society without norms. The violence in chimp society is not contrary to societal norms, but rather, at least partially, a way of upholding them. When an older, stronger individual gives a younger one a beating to "put it in its place", this is a way of upholding norms.

The whole "evil chimp" meme is a myth born out of the tragic maulings that followed from captive chimps not being raised properly.

Most dogs were fine at the vet. I noticed a definite trend with pugs being unfriendly and boring. There was a grand total of two friendly pugs in my time working there.

My favorites personality-wise were always the cavaliers, every single one was very sweet and friendly, and just wanted to love you, but they have heart issues.

Also, oddly enough, all the shiba inus we saw were actually really friendly. I was surprised by that. We didn't have that many of them, but they were bouncy and playful.
