I had an old seal coat, wallet and stuffed animal seal. They are not soft at all. Don't know what baby seals feel like but the adult fur is so coarse it feels like plastic.
Not sure if sealions feel any different from earless seals either but man it was kind of disappointing. They look so smooth and soft and they are not.

It was very. I don't have a picture of anything I had but I think this pic shows how thick and coarse it is. Toothbrushes and boar hair is even softer.
I was also disappointed tigers are really rough too. More so than leopard or jaguars. Got to pet some old skins at the zoo and an actual tiger. Tigers also smell god awful.
