So, fuckin cats... amirite?
The local stray on my block has been coming around for awhile now. Its pretty clean and obviously getting fed.
It used to be really sweet but lately its been a little fucker. It came around a few days ago, ate treats from my hand, and then scratched me. Needless to say, I reacted and popped it in the face with a backhand. Now its afraid of me...
Why are cats so fuckin dumb? Dogs can at least understand action/reaction but its copletely lost on cats.
Pic loosely relsted
>>
>>2097389
dogs evolved to care what you think.
>>
>>2097394
I get that, but cats seem really stupid. Why scratch then stay scared when the only time its ever gotten whacked by me was in response to its own aggression?
>oh noe, i cant attack you on a whim. Better stay away.
>>
>>2097402
your idea that aggression is bad or the cat was attacking don't make any sense to a cat.

to him aggression is good, he has no concept that you have feelings, and he was probably trying to play with you and you attacked him.

to him, you're the one that's stupid.
>>
>>2097409
Its entirely possible, but he dug in with his nails, ears pinned back. It seemed aggressive to me.
What a terrible pet. No wonder so many get abandoned.
>>
>>2097409
I guess the real answer was to scratch back, huh?
>>
>>2097411
chances are the aggression was for a reason you didn't understand, such as it being in pain or not being socialised properly and not understanding how to play nice.
Cats can understand complex shit, even commands like sit, shake paw etc.
from his point of you you dumb and aggressive for no reason.
>>
>>2097411
Yeah, you can't really love cats and be a whining bitch when you get hurt.

it's one or the other.
>>
>>2097415
well it would've understood that.
but then you're just training it to attack you.

the real answer is to stop giving it any attention when it hurts you. They figure that out fairly quickly. They hurt you, you ignore them. It's what cats do with each other.
>>
>>2097417
Where did I say that I love or even like cats? I fed one stray cause it was cool and now it's a cunt
>>
>>2097425
Really? I always thought cats were vengeful little shits. My friend owned a cat that always ambushed him after he'd try to spray it with a water bottle. He had awful scratches lol
>>
>>2097437
>Where did I say that I love or even like cats?
You didn't.
I also didn't say you love cats.

I said you can't love cats because you're a whining little bitch when you get hurt.
>>
Looks like you're the one who doesn't understand here.

Maybe you're the dumbfuck.
>>
>>2097442
>whining
Yeah, no. I solved my problems myself when I whacked the little faggot.
Now I'm here discussing it.
Fuck off, saltypussy lover
>>
>>2097447
>Now I'm here discussing it.
sorry, sounded like little girl bitching to me.

my mistake.
>>
>>2097443
Gee, what gave it away -- was it the thread about erratic cat behavior?
> dumbfuck
t. Another salty pussy
>>
>>2097448
You would know, kiddie-diddler.
>>
Protip: Cats, when getting pet for too long, can sometimes get sexually frustrated and will lash out at you cause you arent giving the D.

Seriously look it up.
>>
>>2097498
That might actually explain it, he took the food happily enough before going all bi-polar on me, I don't think he's fixed and there's no females cats around that I know of.
I guess he saw the hand-feeding as a kind of petting.
>>
>>2097389
What do you mean by "at least dogs can understand action/reaction" from being hit? What do you think they're understanding?
>>
>>2097511
Yeah, my cat still does it sometimes. She's female and neutered too. I would pet her and she would be all into, becoming increasingly friendly and then literally without warning she would go to bite my hand or whatever, didnt understand until one day i looked it up.

If you pay attention you can read them pretty well and anticipate an attack before it happens. Limiting the amount of time you pet them is good too. I dont pet my cat for more than a minute now, which sucks because some cats love getting pet for hours. Doesnt help that my cat's a tortoiseshell tabby mix either.
>>
>>2097531
Dog:
>growl at man near food
>get put on back
>realize how terrible of a decision it was to get snippy over food
> growling stops
> ( you ) :? ¿? ¿? ¿? ¿? ¿? ¿? ¿? ¿?
Please never own a dog of any size. It'll most likely maim a small child given the chance.
>>
>>2097389
You sure it's even a stray? The best thing about a lot of cat owners is they think they're spreading joy by letting their cats roam around outside all hours of the day and night. Nothing better than going out to get the morning paper and finding an animal carcass next to it, or tending your garden to find the flowers smothered by feces.
>>
>>2097592

Haha thank you for answering my question, you ceaser-milan abiding faggot. I bet you go walking down the street saying tst-tst too. Youre too funny
>>
>>2097785
Idk nor do I care really to look up whom that is.
I'm not a limp dick like yourself and can handle disciplining my dog and still having a loving family pet.
Fuck off
>>
>>2097498

My cat does this and now I know why. She'll play really intensely, chewing on my fingers and holding her back claws against my arm and trying to swat my hands, but eventually starts growling and hissing. I need a lady like that. Little slut.
>>
I understand you're not really familiar with cat behavior, as you stated that you don't particularly like them, but scratching and nibbling after getting a treat or played with are not uncommon for cats.
It takes just a little training when they're young to teach them to play nice but if their owner doesn't do it they can be pretty big cunts to people they actually like quite a lot.

That being said you "Betrayed its trust" when you swatted it back, the proper response would be to shout"ow," pull your hand back and walk away, maybe not give him treats for a few days.

It's not your fault you're a big dumb cunt but if you don't understand cat behavior look it up, cats are way fucking different and they're trying pets at times because of it.

As a cat owner I'll openly and readily admit I like dogs more and prefer them as pets but I'm in an apartment now and have grown quite fond of my little furry bastards at times but you have to be incredibly patient with them.

You say you understand dogs, and that's very believable because dogs and humans have been close comrades so long that history has absolutely no idea how long humans and dogs have been in close contact, as far back as human bones are found dog bones are found nearby. We've evolved in a "human" world largely influenced by dogs and their doggy world has been largely influenced by humans so it shouldn't come as a surprise that they're easier to understand, communicate with and train. Cats are a whole other type of psychology and they didn't evolve to cooperate with humans, housecats of today are a total mutant in the animal kingdom and only came into human acceptance by eliminating pests in times and areas where no dog had yet been bred to do it.

Hope this clears a few things up and go fuck yourself.

They're like tiny manic depressives!
>>2097822
> that being said. .. because of it
Yeah, I get you're a salty little pussy, I'm glad I've rustled your ilk so much in this thread. Look, you limp wristed homo, I'm not gonna stop in the middle of getting clawed, take out my phone, and look up why I'm getting clawed by a furry sociopath. I boop'd the little cunt and that works just as well but a whole lot quicker.
I do appreciate your insight though, you soft bitch

> 'muh abuse'

Tell you what, jello-jaw, why don't you go and let a stray-cat you just fed dig it's claws into your arm? Better yet, yank your arm back quickly while the 4lbs of suddenly pissed-off cat is still dug into your arm. Post pics of the results and I'll tell you how stupi--virtuous of a person you are.
I bet you also think you win fights by not fighting.
>>
>>2097938
And I own plenty of pets.
Birds -- they like being handled, they enjoy hand-feeding too but never attack me. Mainly spend their time singing or bathing.
Dogs -- non-aggressive, friendly and happy puppers. They enjoy the meals I cook them and their walks. Not so much the baths.
Fish -- they don't really do anything special but they like getting shrimp chum on Thursdays.
In conclusion: stay salty, pussyboi.
>>
>>2097389
Majority of feral cats are ungrateful cunts. The ones that have been around humans long enough are the ones who may or may not appreciate your kindness.
>>
>>2098022
The little bastard came by today when it seen me pull up after work. I tossed some Temptations at him and fucked off.
It's a cute cat, but it's not worth getting my arm torn open over like some of these retards suggested. Little fucker has fish-hook claws.
>>
>>2098034
I faced a situation similar to yours. This one doesn't scratch tho, it just eats food and walks away, doesn't even allow me to touch it, been like that for several weeks now.

Only rarely do you get a cat that has a playful personality and trusts humans, and these are the ones who have a personality of a dog. The farthest thing from a cat.

How far will a cat wander from home if it's an "outdoor" cat?

cats are an out-of-control predator species, kill them on sight
>>
>>2098318
I agree, they're out of control thanks to people forcing 'no kill' ordinances onto shelters.
>kill on sight
Even most shelters won't euthanize cats anymore. I know my local shelter is actually RESPONSIBLE for multiple cat colonies infesting the beach, getting sick, and dying because they were protested into 'catch, fix, release' policies. Which, ironically, has been responsible for the suffering of countless amounts of cats.
I wouldn't suggest killing them though, anon, thats grounds for animal abuse charges... the real kind, not what these faggots are parroting.
>>
hope you're up to date on your tetanus shot, if not go get one

in most cases bites are the issue, but cats are dirty and strays are worse
>>
> definition of proper dog training is flip dog on back
> thinks cooking dogs meals at home is good for them

OP you are indeed one special type of tard. You make me laugh though, and thanks for not killing in the cat yet.
>>
>>2098430

how do you think people fed dogs before pre-packaged dog food?
>>
>>2098423
>the real kind, not what these faggots are parroting.

punching a stray cat and then gloating about it on 4chan because it scratched you since you were a dumbass might not be animal abuse, but it's certainly a special level of fucked up idiocy.
>>
>>2098451

should've killed it

Luckily I am. My concern is rabies desu but his motor skills aren't impaired at all. He's just an asshole

Calling people 'tard' seems like you're projecting at this point. Work on that, anon.
>t. Feeds His Dog $10 Gravy Train
Sorry you never cared enough to learn your dogs metabolic requirements. Enjoy their lethargy.

why are cats so tsundere, bros?

Some cats... are collar Houdinis. A collar does not stay long on these hairy bastards.

Pretty sure you just have a very poor sense of communication. It's a stray to begin with...

My North American bobtail is smart enough that I taught him to sit, come, retrieve, to jump on surfaces I double pat. And he also outsmarts the dogs sometimes. I have also seen him lay traps for mice with kibble

Tbh don't know.
My cat only attacks me like that when it want's to play. But she doesn't even use her claws.
Maybe because mating season soon?
>>
>>2097531
They realize: "Hey... Everything I do that, I get smacked. Maybe I should stop doing it"

Cats just don't respond well to violent reinforcement. Dogs are really good at it, I guess being man's best friend for 20 thousand years'll do that
