Basically I really want a tiny velociraptor as a pet. But they don't exist anymore. So what obtainable creature is the closest to this? Birds? Reptiles? Other?

Discuss.

inb4 bearded vulture even though they wouldn't be good realistic pets.
>>
Birds are dinosaurs, so birds.

silkie chicken

Cassowaries are gentle souls who make fantastic houseguests.

This.

This, or really any bantam chicken. Very raptor-like in their movements, and I guess behaviour if you tend to imagine dinosaurs as the Jurassic Park variety

I'm curious why you say this.
please explain
>>
literally chickens
>>
>>2094983
It's a giant bird that eats bones, has an 8-9 foot wingspan, and spends a lot of its time soaring a few miles up in the sky.
>>
Too bad we can't make mini cassowaries. Like the size of their babbies but with the black feathers.
>>
OP, in all seriousness, it depends in what you want in a velociraptor. If you want it's supposed strategy and intellect, I recommend an African Grey Parrot. If you are more interested in its hunting abilities, I recommend looking into falconry (Mongolian hawks and falcons are best :P). If it's physical build, a peacock is a good start, and then moving on to Emus may interest you. Just tell us what you want in a velociraptor, and I may be able to hook you up with any bird that suits your needs.

I work in the bird underground.

you're so full of shit I can smell you through the wires.

i'm so sick of deviant art fags. dont you have doctor who or homestuck fan art to follow?
>>
>>2095051
Stop.
The sort of fag that would buy a goddamned African Grey because its the closest thing to a raptor is the sort of person that would make a shitty owner for a parrot.
OP sounds like they are looking for a novelty, not a pet that requires a hardcore commitment compared to other pets.
>>
>>2095118
This.
Also there is absolutely no evidence velociraptor was especially intelligent, that was all made up by jurassic park and etc.

The closest bird to a raptor would probably be something along the lines of a roadrunner.
>>
Just get a couple budgies. It's the same thing

You could get a more saurian tail 3d printed and affix it to a chicken.

I'm sure it's possible with time and dedication. I'd have taken a teacup cassowary over a teacup yorkie.

Get a magpie. Or better yet find one in the wild and occasionally feed it until it becomes accustomed to you.
>>
>>2095021
True, but falconers have kept lammergeier's in captivity before. It's just rare because lammergeiers are rare (and I wouldn't recommend trying to own one because they do have a fragile population).
>>
Velocipraptors were tiny you tard. Jurassic Park lied a lot, the large ones were the Utahraptors.

>Velocipraptors were tiny you tard.
well, we're talking about pets and a dog that weighed that much would not be a tiny dog. a cat that was that big would be enormous. They were not even tiny among the _rapors.
>>
>>2098380
So both arsenic AND victor were full of shit, dentelle is tall as the girl so it can't be a velociraptor nor a deinonychus
>>
>>2094846
>The size of that bird's wattle
damn, son
>>
>>2098550
We're talking about a dinosaur and an animal the general public thinks is larger than a human. It's pretty fair to in general call velociraptor tiny.
>>
Cockatoo
Spend a while at a shelter, and adopt one.
You could probably find one without feathers too.
>>
Cassowary is your best bet.

Downsides: It will kill you

It's possible to keep them in captivity, sure. That doesn't mean they aren't awful pets.
>>
Wait until Mad Jack Horner's dino-chicken project is finished.
>>
>>2095021
Also there's only like four of them or something, so even if they were nice, good luck getting one.
>>
>>2095287
Send flowers to GF's funeral.
>>
>>2097510
The birds are not always aggressive, though they are territorial iirc. I notice the man was carrying a coloured towel over his shoulder. Could the bird have been seeing that as a wattle, like his own, and been curious?
>>
>>2094827
Make Jack Horner complete the chickenosaurus.
