Hey /an/, what are your opinion on humans and nature in general? Do you think we were the best or the worst thing to happen in this planet?

Asking this for research purpose, sorry if its unrelated to the board

I agree with Linkola on the need for human extinction.

I think boiling it down to "best" or "worst" is way too polarizing and simple. It's a lot more complex, and honestly, subjective.

I personally think humans are absolutely amazing in many ways, and also pretty bad in others.

Being able to use tools and plan ahead allowed humans to not only destroy environments efficiently, but do it on purpose. So probably not very good.

Although it is good to have big brain and opposable thumbs.

i think people who think humans aren't the same as animals or that we have a soul or something are kinda sad

this is an interesting man. i see myself in a lot of things he says

Nature has no purpose therefore can not be hindered or advanced. Thus nothing is either good or bad for it.

Although humanity will probably eventually destroy the wonderful chemical engine that run for billions of years and eventually destroy itself. But it still would not be bad.

For the future, either we manage to kill off many species before finally offing ourselves, leaving the remaining creatures to fill the now empty niches or we manage to expand to the stars, inadvertently seeding the universe with more life. So, I'm pretty neutral.

we can't kill all forms of life even if we tried.
