depending on the dogs size, give it a marrow bone. I have smallish dogs, so I give them cow knees and hooves. It seems weird to me that they would like hooves, since they aren't meaty, but my dogs enjoy them. I think its more about the chewing than the taste.
Or you could make him a nice treat. I used to work at a place that would make a mixture of yogurt and peanut butter and freeze it in a large ice mold and give that as a special treat. The dogs loved them.
I bought my fat dog his very own bed and special blanket this is his. He's super attached to it. To treat him every now and again we'll make him a steak and buy him a squeak toy.

My cat only goes out under supervision but she obeys verbal commands so I escort my cat around the garden instead of using a harness. Whenever she wants to go somewhere she can't climb on her own, I give her a lift and stand guard below so she can jump on my shoulders to get down. Since she likes chasing and being chased, I also boggle my neighbours by chasing her around like an idiot.

I take the time to research and formulate a raw diet, stick to only healthy freeze-dried meat treats, train in fun dog sports and rally obedience, have a dedicated training session at least once a day where my doggo can work and earn treats (this is her favorite).

No. Peanut butter can be a treat, but not breakfast. Breakfast should be nutritious, not fun. Keeping your dog on nutritious meals is the best thing you can do for their long term health.
I have a dog that is a little underweight. We used to just feed her dry food, but now we feed her a mix of wet and dry. In the morning I cut the wet food into small pieces and mix it up with some dry food. She's been eating more, and she's starting to gain more weight and muscle. She's stoked about feeding time now, too. I think having to hunt for the wet food in the dry food is fun for her

My cat has odd human foods that she likes. I give them to her in small quantities when I'm eating them. Her favorite is the meat from freshly opened coconut. If I let her, she'll take a half of it and stick her head in it and go nuts. If I am eating coconut without giving her any, she'll climb all over me and get real crazy. She also likes shelled sunflower seeds and popcorn.

I had actually given them that yesterday instead. Is there a reason though? In my Internet research on the topic I'd read that a little olive oil helps with their skin (one of my was a little flaky before I started on the fried eggs, and it's cleared up considerably). Also that some people just give it to them raw but that makes me slightly uncomfortable, from a sanitary perspective, not as an objection to feeding raw.

I had a dog pass away recently from complications from being overweight. If the person intends to do it every day, it's probably better to cut out the oil. If you are only doing it once a week or so and your dog is active, I'm sure it's fine.

Eggs are fantastic, but opt for raw. The yolk is high in omega-3s, and the shell membrane is chock full of glucosamine and collagen, great for joint health. I do a raw egg 3x a week, my pup especially loves cracking it herself.

Sometimes my ducks lay their eggs in the middle of my field instead of in their nesting box. When that happens, my dog steals an egg or two and chows down.
I brush my dog's teeth and trim their claws. They hate it, but they're healthier for it. They also eat good food, are kept at ideal weight instead of some degree of obesity, and have regular exercise, even on days when it's not nice out. They go to the vet when they are unwell, and I tend to realise something is not right reasonably quickly and deal with it in a prompt fashion rather than waiting and seeing.
One of them is older. He has arthritis. I take him to the vet every three months for a pain relief injection. He has a memory foam dog bed, and in winter he wears a doggie coat. He gets allergies on his paws, and when he does I wash his feet every day and put neotopic lotion on them, and put socks and boots on him to protect him from allergens and his own licking. A couple of his organs are a bit dodgy, and he takes nine pills per day. He's a lifer on antibiotics. I ensure his quality of life on the scale is as close to maximum as possible, because he is my dear old friend and he deserves a quiet retirement in as best health and mobility as possible. When he has recurring urinary tract infections, I don't blame him, I just deal with it.
Honestly, I go above and beyond for that older dog. What I do for the younger dog should be expected. Decent food, shelter, and veterinary care. But I dedicate an enormous amount of energy, time, and money to the older dog.
I play with my fish with a laser pointer. I think the exercise is good for them, and they don't seem stressed by it. I used to have fish trained to swim into my hand, but my current fish are not.
It makes me sad how most people seem to view fish as being on the same tier as a pet rock, or a houseplant. I really enjoy them as pets.
I give my mare treats and a full-body massage and grooming after every ride as a way of thanking her, she loves that shit. I can only hope I make her as happy as she makes me.

We used to raise rabbits for food. I cried like a little bitch whenever my dad would kill and butcher one. He made me watch, said it would "help make me a man."
