I currently have a Florida box turtle. When I have a better job I'd like to get a central american ornate wood turtle, pic related
I'm waiting to let them outside again, it's a pain in the ass to collect weeds for them.
if the tank was large enough, could a turtle and a lizard from the same region share a vivarium?

I guess if it's big enough you could keep an arboreal gecko or anolis. but if the turtle would ever get the chance to eat it, it would probably do so.
Bump.
Should sulcata torts be banned/only available via permit? They're real small and cute as hatchlings but they get huge and live long. Also most people can't provide truly adequate enclosures, due to their size and climate needs.

Maybe in certain states.
Certainly not banned though. Just because a normie can't house something doesn't mean it should be banned.

>they get huge and live long
that applies to most tortoises.
all animals should only be available via permit, the average for everything that's commonly available is neglect.
