My cat likes to pee and poop by having his paws on the edges of his box so he's not touching the litter, usually at the corner. Because of this he won't use enclosed litter boxes and when he scratches the litter it will get everywhere. Are there any litter boxes that will stop litter from getting everywhere while also accommodating his bathroom style?

Maybe he doesn't like your litter. Try a softer one, like paper or pine.

We went through a litter trial, he seems to really like this brand. He prefers pooping in dirt and sand the most if he can escape to outside.

My kitten didn't like it her enclosed litterbox either, however she loved it when I put a cardbox around her litterbox and cut and opening for her. Maybe try that?
