In shows, there's this thing called stacking, and depending on the breed they're all stacked differently.
The GSD is stacked with its hind legs like that because it's what looks attractive, but when standing normally their back is straight and all of their legs are proper and a healthy even height. Look up on YouTube "how to stack a German shepherd" and you'll see for yourselves.
