Probably an infection. Take them to a GOOD vet.

If you don't have a regular vet you're confident with already, look up reviews on Yelp. You'll find that a lot of vets consistently get bad reviews. You'll most likely want to avoid those.

A bad vet can kill your pet as dead as not taking them to the vet can, and they'll charge you for it.
