So at my work we started testing our products on dogs. I feel really bad about it and I'm not sure it's even legal. Should I just quit, or could I talk my employer into other testing methods?

Nah they do it where I work too. No animal is exempt from testing except for possibly great apes who have been deemed "people" or whatever.
They have monkeys too.

Just work on providing the best welfare possible. Animals are going to be tested on, just need people in there who are going to provide good welfare for them outside of the testing.
