Do animals have souls?
do souls even exist to begin with?
Since souls don't exist animals don't have them. Qed
Prove they don't exsist dumb ass
No.
But they do have a spirit.

prove they DO exist, hooker lips
>>2051683
You do not understand the concept of faith, or religion, soul, ethereal, and the spirit in general.
I suggest asking your local minister, priest, or going to /pol/ or /his/ looking for Wolfsheim to explain this things to you.

I'm sorry you are lacking there of in spirituality.
If you would like to take your self righteousness and hedonistic materialism elsewhere that would be great.
/an/ is a Christian board.
>>>/r/atheism would be a better fit for you
Well call it whatever you want animals are sentient beings. They dream when they sleep just like us and dreams are the portal to the soul.
>>2051710
Animals have a spirit.
Not a soul.
>>2051711
They enter a stage where they relaxes a bit though like a power nap. And something happens when you sleep.
But sure they dont have a brain. This is physical only 50% of the reality.
>>2051711
sleep isn't defined by a loss of consciousness. It's characterized by a set of similar behaviors.
lots of animals that aren't conscious sleep. everything from fish on up.
>>2051695
>/an/ is a dead-kike-on-a-stick board
Umm, fuck off.
>>2051711
>non-conscious animals don't sleep.
But...that isn't....what? No, Bugguy, please read over what you just said. I have seen you say multiple times that cats and dogs are not concious, and yet now you just said non-concious animals don't sleep. MOST animals sleep, and dogs certainly dream in their sleep, so I am REALLY confused about why you just said that. Like that directly proves everything that you have ever argued about conciousness wrong, are you drunk man?
>>2051782
That definition is inherently wrong though because science has yet to prove what conciousness is, or even if it actually exists. It's just a different form of brain function than most animals.
>>2051788
>we don't really understand water, but we know we need it to survive.
and that's why it's called drinking water when people do it but any other animal does not drink, they are imbibing. because they don't understand they need the water to survive.

Define "soul"
>>2051661
what are "souls"?
>>2052030
then someone has confused their anima with their animus.
either way, the word "animal" literally means "soul" in Latin. Of course in Latin "soul" just means breath or life. Animals have life, so they have souls. Or more correctly, they ARE souls.
the definition you list is some modern bullshit made up by christinas who are afraid to die and even more afraid their enemies won't be punished.
>>2052045
>Of course in Latin "soul" just means breath or life
Do Russians have souls?
>>2052050
anima means soul, animus means mind. One is masculine and the other feminine, and romans saw them as yin and yang of life.
the concept of an immortal soul probably didn't exist in Latin until Christianity took over. So there's no latin word that translates directly.
However in the bible Christians translate the words for life and breath as "soul." These same words are the basis for what we call animals. So the exact same latin and greek words are used by Christians to denote both the soul and an animal. They are the same thing. They are a life, a breath. Animals are souls.
