I found my cat playing with this in the snow. My cat has no claws so I don't think he hurt him, but he's shivering so I took him inside.

I'm fairly certain he's not a mouse. A mole maybe?

It looks like some kind of shrew. Maybe someone else can give you more specifics.

I live in northeast Tennessee if it makes a difference.

What do shrews eat?
>>
Why are you letting a declawed cat outside?
>>
>>2044414
Like I said, I'm no expert. I'm judging based on the snout and body shape.

My nephews parents got him declawed, but he won't stay inside the house, so yeah...

I'm letting him sit on a fuzzy hat. He stopped shivering (still breathing) but he's not moving around. He's really tiny.
>>
>>2044414
Looks like it might be a Least Shrew.
>>
>>2044416
That's a pretty valid question OP.
>>
>>2044418
>he won't stay inside

Keep your shit cat inside
>>
>>2044419
How do I feed him? What do I do? Most of the town is shut down due to snow, so I can't go to a pet store
>>
>>2044414
Short tailed shrew. It's venomous, but not enough to kill you or your cat. Their bite just hurts.
It was probably out looking for food since they have to eat three times their weight every day. Their metabolisms are very fast and they have to keep up with it. I just found a dead one yesterday.

You could try and feed it some cat food and then find a sheltered spot outside for it.
>>
>>2044422
Your cat is going to die in a snowstorm and it's gonna be your fault.
>>
>>2044418
>>2044423
It's probably exhausted at this point. As long as your cat didn't rip it open or cause any internal injuries, it'll probably be fine. As I mentioned in the above, you can try and feed it some cat food, maybe put it in a warm box just for a little bit for it to warm up/come out of shock(if it's in it) but then put it back outside.
Also be careful with it because it might not be moving much now, but they can move pretty fast and you might end up loosing it in your house.

I don't recommend keeping it. It's wild, shrews are very high energy, aggressive, and it's already probably under a lot of stress.

Okay. I gave it some catfood and it's moving a bit

Are you sure it's not a baby? He's really tiny
>>
>>2044418
OP, letting your cat outside is a bad idea on it's own, as your cat not only destroys wildlife (billions of birds die each year because of cats, it's terrible), but your cat has many dangers outside including diseases, cars, and other cats. since your cat is declawed it will not have a way to defend itself in a fight with another cat, and will get seriously wounded. it's a terrible idea to let him outside.
>>
>>2044431
Hm, actually I think I'm going to go with it being a least shrew because it's more brown. Least shrews are tiny in general, but if a female mated late then it could be a young adult. It's old enough to forage on it's own.

Also stop taking pictures and leave it alone. Put it in a box, somewhere dark and warm for a little bit. Leave a little catfood and leave it be for now. If it's not moving around within the hour, then there's nothing you can do for it OP. It may be hurt, or it just may be way too freaked out by you so find somewhere sheltered and small to let it go under such as a woodpile, a deck, logs, etc.

Loxosceles reclusa, they're venomous as >>2044425 said. Bites tend to cause necrotizing lesions.
>>
>>2044410
Feed it insects (earthworms, crickets, Super Worms).
>>
>>2044414
They eat literally any animal that will fit into their mouths.

My last cat got run over by a car :'( he was facing my home when a car ran him over, he almost made it. I buried him, but a raccoon dug up his corpse and ate it.

I was so upset

you mean your siblings...?
>>
>>2044510
I'm sorry, anon, but that's fucking funny. I'm picturing it being like that gif where the raccoon steals food from the cats all ashamed looking and runs off.
But in all seriousness I am sorry for that, shit sucks.
>>
It's a shrew.

They carry all sorts of diseases. Leave him outside away from your house OP
>>
if hes still alive at least end it for him.

He's not gong to recover so just stamp the heel of your shoes into his head so he wont linger in agony.
>>
>>2044419
But it's still pretty dang shrew.
