That sucks if people are gonna go all crazy trophy hunting.

Yeah, because there isn't any regulation on that whatsoever.

Some wolves are more endangered than others. I'm fine if they acknowledge and respect this.
Dark green is where wolves can live. Once wolves have repopulated the areas in dark green, I will be ok with delisting. Until then, I am not satisfied.
why do wolf populations need to be trimmed? It's not like people raise sheep in open pastures these days

>sheep are the only important thing about the ecosystem that would require predators not to be overpopulated

There's probably a reason. I don't think they'd delist them if they were in any real danger. It's not like they're delisting Mexican wolves; Just timber, which there are hundreds of thousands of. The only thing in danger is likely very small amount of local populations.

Here in Washington State a state senator from the East side (where wolves have been reintroduced, and farmers and ranchers have been having troubles with them) introduced a bill into the state to reintroduce them on the west side. Because all of the supporters of Wolf Reintroduction are from that side, but they only want them on the East side away from them.

Is it true that they are still going off of faulty population replacement estimates based on herbivore mating patterns? I recall reading that somewhere but I was never sure of the truth of it.
