when a snek is underwater is it an eel until it comes back to the surface?
>>
I still don't see how somewhere along the line they found it better to not have legs at all. Is it because of the large prey they eat? Would legs just get in the way?
>>
There's a theory that snakes evolved from reptiles that took advantage of a burrowing niche millions of years ago. Since then they've moved into arboreal, aquatic and other niches.

finless fish

Some do, particularly larger species.
They're small and insignificant though.
>>
>>2036192
Maybe they got tired running around on them and like just forgot they needed them and started sliding on thier bellys.
>>
>>2036194
Eels have fins though.

there are a lot of animals with small and insignificant legs, that aren't vestigial legs.

Those are extremely specialized vestigial legs.

I'll give it to you tho, I didn't knew about it, so thanks for the info regardless.

because they're lazy. you'd squirm on the ground like an idiot too if you had to get somewhere and decided your limbs were no longer part of the equation.
