I have lots of little plants and geodes all over my apartment!

truly horrible.

I love the room but what the fuck is with the plants that aren't potted? No soil? You fuck up, you had a good thing going.

>what the fuck is with the plants that aren't potted? No soil?

Those are orchids. And not the genetic freakshow orchids that you find in a grocery store checkout line.

if you think "gay" is an personal attack your on the wrong board, queerbait!

we don't marginalize the hoomosexuals here, so get right the fuck out! I was complimenting the OP on his bold choice of cockgobbling and shpinketer stretching. How dare you take that as an insult?!

how dare you!
>>
>>2031539
It's nice knowing that in a few generations your kind will be all but gone.
>>
>>2031543
wut?
gay people have been around since the beginning of time. They'll still be here in a few generations.

you know, gay people alway come from straight parents, so it doesn't matter if gay people reproduce, they'll always be with us!

it isn't pinned.

spiders, centipedes, scorpions, my lizards, etc.

What kind of mix should I use for succulents? Online I'm reading 1:1:1 of perlite, sand, and peat. Is that good?
>>
>>2032058
I use flooring sand (0-4MM) mixed with perlite or volcanic rock for them.
>>
>>2032069
Would playground sand be okay? I have some volcanic rock, but it's big chunks, about 25-50 mm. I have perlite and vermiculite, too.
>>
>>2032072
would probably clog up the roots, bigger grade sand is better.

> but it's big chunks
smash them.
>>
>>2032058
>perlite
not particularly useful
>sand
yes, add small gravel too
>peat
ok, but regular potting soil with humus is better
>vermiculite
meh

I use garden soil (15-20%), humus (15-20%) and small gravel (60-70%). Depends for what kind of succulents it is
>>
>>2032096
>but regular potting soil with humus is better
humus will build up inside the pot whether you want it or not.
>>
>>2032104
Since you have to repot the smaller ones every 2-4 years that's not really a problem.
>>
>>2032105
sure, I prefer not repotting adults though.

humus isn't a problem with the substrate I use, only makes it better.
>>
>>2032113
Neither is it with mine. There aren't that many worms etc. in a small pot, so humification is pretty slow.
>>
>>2031489
I like it why all the hate
>>
>>2032169

>>

>>
>>2032187
>humification isn't a bad thing.
Depends on the succulent. If it's cacti it can be a problem since humus holds moisture for long periods. Other succulents (Aloe, Haworthia, Crassula and shit like this) don't really give a fuck.
>>
>>2032189
>If it's cacti it can be a problem since humus holds moisture for long periods
not with the substrate I use.
>>
>>2032209
Because you don't have rare/difficult species of cacti. Commercial shit will grow in anything.
>>

It's a picture of bugguy's bedroom, and everyone hates bugguy because he's often very douchey and likes to troll the board by pretending to be marginally stupider than he actually is.

He's being rather civil in this thread, though, so there's that.
>>

Because it's a thread honoring him. Probably started by him untripped.

All I got are these on the windowsill. Two apples, nothing on the right, and a pair of loquats squished into the same can on the left. I will eventually move them all outside. And into something other than old dog food cans.

I recently got a ginkgo in the mail. It came in a plastic bag with the roots wrapped in wet newspaper. I put it outside in a pot, until it's big enough that I can put it in the ground without someone accidentally running it over with a lawnmower.
>>
>>2032286
I hope you're not expecting to ever get apples.
>>
>>2032296
Not really, no. I never expected to get loquats, either. But those ones are the offspring of the seeds I planted 12 years ago.

The avocado, I imagine, would also fruit, as it definitely flowers and has been flowering for about three years now. But they don't really self-pollinate and there aren't any others in the area.

We'll see.

i think that's a nice set up desu. i'm a big fan of orchids, ferns, sarracenia, and tillandsia. my room is garden level and at the front of my house so i keep my shades closed all the time.
due to some health issues i've kinda been unable to care for most of my house plants. rip. last time i checked there is a mealy bug infestation on a group of my plants in the living room. will probably just dispose of them because fuck trying to salvage all dat.

this is my neostylis lou sneary 'blue bird' and my nepenthes alata x ??? (lol at not having a proper pot for the nepenthes). the lou sneary smells like the blue dawn dish soap imo.
>>
>>2032520
Then what rare species of cacti (or other succulets) do you have there?
>>
>>2032859
Look, an Aussie.
>>
>>2032876
I don't keep an active plant list, I'll take a picture in the summer.

the conditions on the road are too terrible to go there now anyway, as you can see from how frosty my garden is.

I'm making my kitchen into indoorjungle currently. I have those metal grids like you have on the leftside window. How did you fasten the pots to it in that way?

I have a couple little pots on the sill but they're fairly sickly right now, I think the light conditions are pretty shit there this time of year.
>>
>>2033364
check if the windowsill is magnetic. There are powerful magnetic hooks available for less than 5 usd that i've found useful in placing plants in strange places.
