Hey I really need help. I inherited this white russian dwarf hamster today. How do I take care of it? I fucking killed the 3 hamsters I owned as a kid. I want to give this hamster the best possible life to make up for killing sparky, bacon, and jack.
Some questions I have about its cage (pic)
>What hay is best for it?
>Does it need a bigger cage?
>Is the pellet food the best? Or should I feed it something else?
>How often can I give it treats for training?

how did you kill your three? I had many hamsters. Did you choke them or drown them or tie them to a balloon and let them float away

The first one fell off a balcony, the second one died after fighting another hamster, the third one slowly burned on top of a radiator.
What happened to your hamsters?

You got to be trolling.
The sheer levels of fails you demonstrate is killing me.

To be fair I was <10 years old.
I'm planning on building this one some wooden contraption in a spare 40G tank I have instead of this cage. Is that a bad idea? Could that kill it?

It would lack ventilation. Don't do aquariums. Get at least a 6 sq feet cage.

My best advice is to get the cage meant for the next size up animal. Have a hamster? Try and get a guinea pig cage with small bars to keep it in. As long at the hamster can't escape, it should be fine. Give lots of bedding for tunneling, and maybe buy a bag of cotton balls so he can make a nest. Bedding depends; wood shavings can cause respiratory problems, carefresh (I'm assuming what you are using) can have perfume that might cause allergic reactions. I've had to switch to newspaper for my mouse. I would suggest going on google to find a thorough hamster care guide though as I'm not hamster whisperer.
