My dog dug out a skull in the back yard a few days ago, could you please tell me what kind of animal or thing is this ? It's around 4" long, I think it's too big for a cat, but I don't know

Looks like a chow chow skull to me. I wouldn't know, but my money's on it.
It's part of a dog skull(the back top of it, parietal, occipital, sagittal crest) , from a medium to large type breed judging by the thickness of the skull.
