Neither are solid in a dust up really, both hope to get in quick and puncture something important before they get kacked themselves. If they're both REALLY determined to kill each other I'd side with the lion since they're more solidly built but on a chance encounter I'd call the Cassowary the victor since even big cats have a cautious nature and a big weird looking bird barreling at you talons scything is bound to seem like it's not worth the effort.
