Geckos only eat once every other day. I'm surprised you were able to get it to eat twice daily for a while. Must have been hungry. In future, offer mealworms/roaches in a small smooth sided dish that they can't climb out of. Only offer food every other day. Also, you need to be dusting those insects with calcium +D3. And gutloading them if you haven't been.
Look up house gecko care on Google to make sure your temperatures are correct. Confirm whether or not house geckos need uv light (i dont know off hand). Do you have sufficient climbing decor and hides in the tank?
This is also winter and geckos slow down considerably and eat less from late November to March even if they don't go in to brumation.

Almost a week into having my first leopard gecko juvenile. I had been feeding him/her 8 small mealworms every other day but the gecko still seems so hungry so I'm wondering if I should leave mealworms in the food dish all the time instead and monitor how much they are eating. Yes, increase feeding amounts. You can also feed daily for a few months. Leos will not eat themselves to death. Usually they will eat until they vomit once, lesson learned, and only eat what they need for the rest of their life.

My leopard gecko hasn't been eating much in recent weeks. She is an adult and when she was growing up, she ate a lot. I give her some meal worms and when they wriggle around, she gets excited and walks up to them ready to strike but then she just licks them or nibbles on them and ignores them. The same with crickets. Not sure what could be causing it, temps are fine and everything. I think her tail might also be shrinking because of this. Can someone tell me if her tail size is normal? There's no need for full sphagnum moss substrate. They don't need that high and constant humidity. A big water dish and some sprays every so often is enough. At least in my experience.
The animal needs places to "perch". My gecko spends all day behind fake plants while in vertically diagonal piece of wood where he can simply stand on. When he comes out at night he usually goes to more flat surfaces and just stands there. You don't have any places like that.
Pic related is my terrarium. It has more dead leaves now, I need to get some sort of led strip in there to provide more lightning.
Behind the big cork piece there's another piece of wood and the fake plants, where he "perches" and sleeps during the day. At night he stands on the top and bottom platforms a lot.
He rarely sleeps on the bottom left gap and inside the cork. So providing some different hiding places would also be good.

Please purchase a digital hygrometer and put
the probe in the tank about a third of the way up from the bottom. You're looking for a baseline humidity of 50-60% along with a daily spike to higher percentage when you mist. If it's too low with just the paper towel, go ahead and add in a couple handfuls of moss.
Size of tank is okay right now but you will need to upgrade that in about 6 months.
Pick up a cork round from pet store and put it in. Geckos love those and your's needs a dark place to hide.
You can offer much less food than that. Baby cresties only eat about a half bottle cap worth a day.

Pet store should have hygrometers in the reptile aisle. If not, amazon sells them.
For hides, there's lots of stuff you can use instead of cork bark. Section of PVC pipe from hardware store and wrap some plastic plants around it, paper towel roll, section of cardboard poster tubing from post office, etc. Suction cup shower soap dishes work great as perches. Make sure to thoroughly wash any plastic or PVC from hardware store before putting it in to get off whatever gunk left on it from the factory.

I have 2 African Clawed Frogs, and recently they have been staying at the top of the tank. They used to burrow under a rock, but I moved the aquarium to my new home 3 weeks ago so they no longer have their little cubby. I would say they are at the bottom of the tank 80%+ of the time, but sometimes I'll walk by and one or both of them are floating at the top, entire body submerged but eyes and mouth out of the water. When I walk near the tank they go back down, I assume the vibration startles them.
They are eating fine and behave normally, just like to poke their faces out of the water. Is this anything to be concerned about? They share the tank with a large pleco, two Dalmatian mollies, 3 giant danios, and 4 zebra danios. (I know they will probably eat the zebras eventually)
I use an aquarium gardening claw to "hand" feed the frogs so I know they aren't going hungry. I'll feed them mysis and brine shrimp, occasionally I'll feed them bloodworms.
Tl;Dr my 2 ACF's will float at the top of the tank with just their faces over the surface, otherwise behave normally. Should I be concerned?

when my gargoyle was a hatchling she gave me fits about her eating. i night i finally saw her eating and realized why it looked like she hadn't been touching her food; she would never lick from the middle of the dish, always slid her tongue right down the edge. This resulted in no lick marks of any kind visible on the surface.
She's all grown up now and has changed this habit. Now her thing is to wait until the cgd surface dries a bit and will bite in to it like a like it's a solid substance.

I know when mine was younger he would have a bulking phase, where he started looking fat, and a lengthening phase where he was getting longer but it made him look skinny. I think that's typical, I know others have had the same thing happen and I'm told it's typical.

I'll try doing that. He does seem to be longer after shedding so that might be why he looks skinnier
Is it okay to handle your juvenile leopard gecko daily? For the first few days I let him/her alone completely but now I try and spend a very brief period of time once a day holding my gecko. At first I just put my hand in the cage but now I've started having him/her on my palm. The gecko seems nervous and will either sit still it sometimes run away but doesn't bite or scream. I don't want to stress out the poor thing too much but I also want to start working on taming. What do?

My favorite morph is sunglow. There are some variations on the morph's appearance but basically it's a patternless body, orange, redish brown spots on head and tail, some tangerine pigment in tail, and white belly.
so, i have a corn who had to trade off of his bedding for mats and towels (he loves playing in towels and blankets with me, so i bought a bunch of small ones and rotate as they get dirty)
the only problem is, he seems to consider his green mat a "green towel" and just digs under it and hangs out down there on the glass
he had to change in the first place from getting little snakey ahsma from the dust (which he shouldn't have, if the bedding was the quality it said)
im wondering if anyone has any other sensitive suggestions, that would possibly let him actually burrow more. iv done research, but alot of sites are a bit generic in their descriptions. people who suggest paper, only say news paper and paper towels. not if shredded or not changes anything. Or if other paper types work. the same goes for material. the same goes for other materials "only use this eco terra shit" or "nigga, why aint you using coconut fibers err day".
tl:dr substrate suggestions for sensitive corn. natural habitat similarity not necessary

Shredded paper isn't great for snakes (eco bedding etc).
I suggest trying a different brand of aspen chips, see how that goes. Chips, mind you. Not shavings. The chips are less dusty.

Tangerine tornado is a line bred version of the super hypo carrot tail baldy, emphasizing darker oranges. That's a pretty fancy morph you have there, more rare than sunglows. Only produced by urban gecko of Canada I think?
A sunglow is a super hypo tangerine carrot tail with one of the three albino strains; ie, tremper sunglow, bell sunglow, or jungle sunglow.
So I've been working on building a paludarium for a pair of Phelsuma laticauda and wanted to get some opinions on colors for cement. I'm using the cement to separate the water from land and I want it to look as natural as possible. Would brown with a hint of terra cotta red work well or should I just go for a really dark brown color?

My florida king has consistent dry sheds, Ive been informed they don't need that much humidity... he has a soaking bowl on the cool side.... and I live in south louisiana so ambient fucking humidity is 60-80% year round peaking around 100% in the summer.
Should I lightly dampen my aspen on the warm side weekly to keep it extra humid? I just don't want to cause mold development or anything.

I'm from Europe, and I got her from a local breeder.
I'm really happy to have her, but if the guy ever has a sunglow girl, I'll get one of those as well.
She's my first leo, got her about 2 and 1/2 months ago, she looks healthy (fat tail), eats okay (I think), poops every 2-3 days, shed 3 times so far (was shedding already the day after I got her) without me having to assist her, so I'm pretty confident that I'm doing a lot right, that's why I'm thinking about getting a second one!
Pic rel is her, sand is only the filling in between the tiles. Got a humid and a dry hide on the warm side (air/ ground temp under the stone construction is around 30-32°C, inside the dry is about 28-29.3, cold is around 23-24.), 1 hide in the middle, 1 hide on the cold side.
She however mostly stays on the warm side.
How can I get that side even warmer? I switched from 75W bulb to 100W, but there's hardly a difference. I'm tempted to switch to a heat map, but as it's winter, I need a bulb anyways....(Or am I simply worrying too much? I mean, like I said above, she's really doing fine, she even crawls on my hand from time to time whilst feeding. The breeder guy said that my temps are okay, that "I could even go colder"(but I'm def. not doing that, no worries)).

Leos very rarely have a problem shedding if they have access to a moist hide. I had one that loved his moist hide so much I started to worry he was spending too much time inside it and would get a respiratory infection. ha!

Thanks for the kind words on my setup, I can take a few pictures of the whole thing tomorrow. Only thing that I'm also a bit concerned/ annoyed about is that crickets have tons of hiding spots. I usually let them in for about 2 hours to give her time to eat, but she doesn't always find them, so I usually make sure that I see her eat one cricket + 2-ish mealies every 2-3 days, then I let her hunt for the rest.

The light in the room isn't a big deal. You can test it to see if she's annoyed by turning the light off earlier and seeing if she comes out more. Even if she is bothered this isn't the kind of thing that will badly stress them out. It just might cause her to spend more time in her hides during that time.

They're easy. Paper towel or aspen for substrate. Two or three hides. Make sure the hides are not too big. Snakes like them best if they can curl up inside and still be touching the outer edges on all side. Big wide shallow water dish. Ask whoever you get snek from what size mice it is currently feeding on and when last feed was before you pick it up. Under tank heater for heat. Put temperature probe in the warm side hide.
Never taken care of a rehab snake. Not sure.

The Urban Gecko and Northern Gecko (Mark Orfus) are the two best gecko breeders in Canada. I have two cresties and a garg from Northern and another crestie from TUG. Not a snake expert or even an owner, but to my knowledge, ball pythons are infamous for going on hunger strikes. It wouldn't surprise me if the new environment has him a bit stressed and he just doesn't wanna eat. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless he's showing signs of sickness otherwise. Just keep offering food and he'll probably eat eventually. Gove him some time to acclimate, too.
