Can someone tell me what this is?
>>
Lychee?
>>
A rubber ball.
>>
That is a wild strawberry. It's edible but not very tasty.
>>
>>2008010
Nah the lychie's cover is hard and it's white inside I dont thinl so.. Or it s still developing but this is portugal and it grew out of nothing so I dont think its lychie, as a local. I was thinling some kind of berrie. It looks an awful lot like raspberry
>>
>>2008014
Bingo probably, alright guys who's the first to give it a bite?
>>
>>2008007
>>2008014
They grow all over the place in my yard every Summer.

How is it that you people have never seen a wild strawberry before?!?! They are as common as dandelions!
>>
>>2008020
The wild strawberries where I live don't look like that. The wild raspberries are better to be honest.
>>
>>2008023
Where do you live?

>>2008020
probably because.
>>2008023
there's two species with that common name.

Fragaria virginiana and vesca.

also you're all fucking idiots because this is Potentilla indica.

it isn't a wild strawberry, it isn't even a Fragaria, and they're NOT edible.
>>
>>2008037
you have P. indica there as well I believe.
>>
>>2008026
>>2008036
Ontario. I was wrong, we have Fragaria virginiana here.
>>
>>2008036
>it isn't a wild strawberry, it isn't even a Fragaria, and they're NOT edible.

They ARE edible. They just aren't very good
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mock_strawberry
>The aggregate accessory fruits are white or red, and entirely covered with red achenes, simple ovaries, each containing a single seed. They are edible, but they have very little flavor.
>>

http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/plantox/detail.cfm?id=13794

they're considered inedible, try to actually read the page you're quoting, it's in the citation.
>>
>>2008046
Ignore all Buggtroll posts.
>>
>>2008047
Haha oh the hypocrisy here is too sweet.

Or do you really not understand what quoting is. Do you just see it as meme text? It's shite like this that causes people to think you're a troll and not take you seriously even if you do have some knowledge and experience. Your attitude is pure shite.
>>
>>2008047
They're flavorless. There is no record of toxicity and they're considered a survival food. Use your brain.
>>
>>2008036
>Potentilla indica.
>it isn't a wild strawberry, it isn't even a Fragaria, and they're NOT edible.

It is edible, it just has no taste. Some say it might cause mild diarrhea, but that's not proven.

you're adding nothing to the thread with your baseless complaints.

you're just angry because you got corrected, your attitude is pure shite.
>>2008067
spam is considered a survival food.

but good luck living off it.
>>2008077
that it doesn't poison you doesn't mean it's edible.

are you droolers just angry because you got corrected?
>>2008078
shouldn't you be shitposting in paleontology threads, ausfag.

/an/ can't even identify common weeds yet bashes others for not knowing the species they misidentified it as.
>>
>>2008007
Ok guys this is OP and I've done my research based on your hints. It's potentilla indica almost for sure even though I have not seen any yellow flowers. It can be eaten even though it's not strong on flavor. It's leafs can be used raw for salad, dried for tea and cooked as a green. I'll keep it.

PS: you guys are the best. Even you bugguy. Every time I come here to ask about my findings you show up and try to help. Thank you. All of you
>>
>>2008099
this is also the second time I have to correct you on this.

or did you forget >>2002392 already.

not only are you too stupid to learn, you're too stubborn for it as well.
>>
>>2008108
almost forgot:
source http://www.eattheweeds.com/potentilla-indica-mistaken-identity-2/

sorry for double posting
>>
>>2008110
guys don't fight for my love. There's plenty for everyone

the leaves underneath the fruit should make it pretty obvious, Fragaria vesca lacks them.

pic related.
>>2008111
there's no harm to adding paper into your wilderness stew or salad.

there's a big difference between 'non-toxic' and 'edible.'
>>
>>2008110
>or did you forget >>2002392 already.
that wasn't him.

I know because it was me.
you didn't correct me on anything.
the plant pictured in that thread is wild strawberry. I just don't feel like arguing with morons so I abandoned the thread after posting.

that plant is also Potentilla indica.

you wouldn't recognize a wild strawberry if it hit you in the face.
>>
>>2008122
If I didn't feel like arguing with morons then, what makes you think I want to now?
>>
>>2008122
thank god they're softer than strawberries. Stop being mean to each other and just argue so we can all get smarter
>>
>there's a big difference between 'non-toxic' and 'edible.'
>arguing about semantics

Oh boy, here we go again.
Don't forget to ignore and/or report bugguy posts. Together we can cure /an of this cancer.
>>
>>2008117
That's very true! Also this plant bears the fruit upwards as opposed to fragaria vesca which is just pending from the branch
>>
>>2008128
someone already pointed your lack of education out in the last thread >>2002403 so I'll just point it out again.

you aren't a botanist, I am.
>>
>>2008131
No come on he's just trying to help for the sake of helping. Why'd you do this and call him cancer?Bugguy you also could have some manners when discussing your points

never adds anything to threads or conversations, just shitposts about me all day every day.

ignore and report.

bugguy's mom pls go

He's a childish little fag who does not get basic concepts and repeats the same shit in every thread he's in. Gee I wonder why people think he's cancer.

>>

adorable
>>
>>2008020
the wild strawberries here look exactly like a strawberry, but 1/4 of the normal strawberry size.
>>
>>2008020
That's Duchesnea, not wild strawberries (notice the fruits pointing upwards)
>>
>>2008158
this should be a kids show. bugguy grows flowers and when kids say things he doesn't like he spergs out on them and starts screaming about nocireceptors and windmills
>>
