Stop shitposting in our crocodile thread, whoever you are.
I always liked this one because of the joke.

Now that is a crocodile correct? Because of the narrower snout?

What are you talking about and why are you trying to shit up a perfectly good alligator thread?
Woah woah woah, what's with the drama? Look, here's a picture I snapped myself, back in August.

>>1986333
This was at a restaurant in Panama City Beach, FL. They had a gated pond or pool with a few alligators.
>>1986339
The only time I've been that close is on the old battleship museum in Wilmington, they had a huge one that hangs around there. Had a funny name for him but I've forgotten it.
Thanks for deleting the shitposts mods.

Cannibal Corpse sucks.
The mods really need to speak out.
Only to publicly call this guy the utter retard he is.
I'm sure they're really itching for that. It's impressive how professional they are despite this retard claiming they aren't.
What the fuck is even happening in this thread?
>>1986410
Or they can just ban you instead.
>>1986412
no need to ban anyone.
they'll get bored when they finally realize nobody else is reading anything they post.

You're right. Here's one about to devour a piranha.

When I was a kid, I dreamed of having a black caiman as a pet in an enormous enclosure. No one knew what the fuck I was talking about when I told them.
Speaking of underrated.

A reverse sage bomb, in fact. Expect him to bump this thread for several days until someone deletes the thread. He might restart his spam when they ban him again, though.
>>1986559
The worst part is that if someone deletes the thread, it's gonna count as a victory in his autistic fucking head and encourage more of this behavior.

Why do baby crocodiles/alligators that just hatched in captivity bite the person watching/handling them? Do they imprint on humans at all if you're there when they hatch?
>>1986821
They probably just bite in general. Wouldn't pose an issue to the mom because she's a giant armored reptile a thousand times their size.
>>1986381

I had some selftaken pictures but I formatted my phone, was one really nice alligator cruising through a canal on the side of the road I saw it had to be atleast 8'

I wish they were that common
Granted if you go out into the boonies like bayou pidgeon you usually dont have to look very long to find a few but Ive never seen so many in 1 place unless if was some form of alligator farm
>>1987194
What an idiot. That croc is going to attack somebody one day.

10/10 daughter material
so do alligators/crocodiles make good pets? they look cute as a baby, but I fear it would turn against me when it gets older and very big.
>>1990334
They're good if you're tired of living and want to die in a horrible way
>>1990334
Holly fuck no.
They're hiddeous as pets, you'll only enjoy one if you are a true "croc lover". They can be tamed, but they will never be a pet.
And yes, they do look cute as babies. Really cute. I thought the same when I had a baby Palpebrosus for a few days, and now I have small scars on my hands that will last for the rest of my live.
>>1990334
You can have alligators semi sociable to where I would say handling is fairly safe for a year or two until they start growing uncontrollable.
If they are fed and well taken care of they arent going to run you down in your yard unless its mating season. If you decide to fish though theres a good chance it will try to take your fish.
My uncle has had one in his pond that he got as a hatchling for about 15 years now. It grew to about 3 and a half feet and started getting restless so he stopped handling it, he still occasionally will sit out on the pier and talk to him though.
>>1990334
Everything I've read has said they are awful pets. They require huge, climate controlled enclosures, tons of food, and are much easier to have dangerous/deadly fuck ups with than, say, a burmese python.
Basically, you need to be a rich expert in crocodilians to feasibly pull it off. Or just attempt to tame a wild croc enough to let you feed it without it attacking you, or get really lucky like that guy in south america.
>>1990404
No one gives a shit
>>1990334
what this guy>>1990432 says is true, I didnt mention me and my uncle live in the south so I didnt even think about things like that since they flourish wild here, atleast as far as alligators go. I have never handled a croc and have no desire to, those things scare the shit out of me even though alligators are completely fine.
>>1990385
> They can be tamed, but they will never be a pet.
green wasn't my color anyway.
So is it true that an alligator's brain is the size of a golf ball?
>>1991372
yeah, in a fuckhuge gator that's about right.
In a 10 foot gator it's about the size of a jelly bean. The olfactory bulbs are about the size of your thumb, but they don't really contribute to the thinking part of the brain.
>>1991696
That is fucking adorable.
>>1989756
she seems pretty cool, no- she is pretty cool.
Crocodiles > Alligators
Can't deny this
>>1991397
Dang. I looked this up and it looks like the average weight of an american alligator's brain is 8.4 g, but the average body weight is 230 kg. That's 0.3% of its body mass if I didn't screw my math up. So they're basically hardwired to hunt, detect prey and breed, not much else.
>>1992022
yeah, your figure there shows the brain taking up about 100 times more space than it actually does in the skull.
I have the skull of an 8 foot gator on my desk, the braincase is about the size of the tip of my pinky.
>>1992028
>I have the skull of an 8 foot gator on my desk, the braincase is about the size of the tip of my pinky.
had the pleasure of fingering a gator skull myself once.
Thanks mods
>>1992030
they're good to have around for various reasons.
>>1992035
looks really nice
too bad I can't get one here in europe (at least not for a reasonable price)
>>1992035
Goddamit 4chan ruined me. From the thumbnail it looked like a dragon dildo.
>>1992040
you might be able to.
I got that one off ebay for $50 a few years back. I think that size currently sells for about $90. Pretty sure they'll ship to Europe.
>>1992043
US sellers tend to ship only within the US, but I'll definetely check it out.
>>1992041
>blaming your latent homosexuality on 4chan

>>1992041
You mean it isn't?
>>1992041
I thought so, too. And I actually have some of those dildos. It looks pretty similar.
>>1992129
It's a Spinosaurus tooth.
you probably don't want it up your ass. Maybe you do. I don't know.
>>1992166
My uncle got drunk at a bar and wrestled an alligator up to the road tied its mouth shut with a bandanna then carried it home when I was 6.
My dad later killed him for being a crazy bastard a few years later
Alligator damn near scared my grandfather to death when he sat down on the toilet and that thing was in the tub though
>>1992218
>My dad later killed him for being a crazy bastard a few years later
Killed your uncle or the gator?
>>1992221
uncle
He came in talking about killin him me and my mother (this was a normal occurance)while my father had the flu and my dad shot his ass in the head.
but to stay on topic If I coerced an alligator onto my property it wouldnt be illegal to not call anyone to remove it from my pond right?
Huh, so this is the ACTUAL source of OP's picture:

You'd be surprised how much licensing can cost at times. All things considered, that's a cheap clip.

$39 is nothing for the exact stock footage you want for whatever reason, the legal rights to it, etc.

Last as all fuck, but I'm also in Louisiana
North Louisiana though, and in my area we've actually got a pretty healthy number of gators about thanks to the alligator farm nearby that has some get loose EVERY FUCKING TIME IT RAINS
They're still cool as fuck though, I guess unless you play golf because every damn course has about 1 gator per water hazard
