I got interested in jumping spiders lately, and the intelligence they have it's incredible, the salticidae are considered the more advanced spiders, they can see colors, they learn and solve problems.
But the most interesting part are the mating rituals. it looks to me like this spiders evolved to favour intelligence and creativity.

So I got myself one, I would love to show you a picture of her, but it's only 2mm (around 0.07 inches for the measurement impeded) and I can't take a picture of it that doesn't look like a blurry mess.
Any help with the care of it, or on how to take pictures of something so tiny, would be greatly appreciated.
Jumping spider is cutest spider
When went blueberry picking a while back a saw a few jumping spiders among the berries. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good pic of any since they would get spooked by any shadow being cast on them. Keep protecting those blueberries lil guys!

Almost missed this link and posted that vid here. Anyway this is my personal favorite spider pic.
As much as I love spiders I cannot be near them much. Their little movements near me mess with me and when I was little I went to a mental hospital for a bit because of this. Also broke a camera cause I was doing a closeup and one jumped at me and I panicked and threw the camera and it hit a rock.
Anyway cute spiders, guys!

Haha, what?

I was little and stupid and knocked a ladybug into a spider leg and the spider went nuts wrapping it in silk and I just felt really shitty and got real upset over it and then got paranoid that spiders were on me and felt really itchy. Mom drove me to the hospital and in an attempt to convince the hospital staff I was fine I pretended to hallucinate that the spider and ladybug were friends and dancing together. Little did I know any kind of hallucinations are bad hallucinations and then I spent like a week in a mental institution with some nut job who they had to call the police on and some kid I remember only as "rat girl". I didn't have to do homework for the rest of that school year though so it was pretty cool.
Lesson learned: Don't pretend to hallucinate. It doesn't help the whole "not looking insane" thing.

>spider went nuts wrapping it in silk
the only reason people need not be afraid of spiders is because spiders dont eat humans.
they are, however, quite terrifying for any animal that happens to be on their list of edible species. the sound of a fly trying like mad to get out of a net while the spider is cocooning it is quite harrowing
