Sorry for shit tier iPhone camera, all I had on me
Hey /an/, settle a bet for me.
Who would win in a fight between a giant tree weta and a giant centipede (scolopendra)?
>>2124723
Ive never had any problems with wetas.
Giant centipede, pretty easily.
They're much bigger, much stronger, and have much nastier weaponry.

Females in mating season have paralytic venom, you think they have ANY chance at all to come out on top?
this is a spider bite. how scared do i need to be? ive got 14 more scattered around my body, but this one is the worst. its right where my jeans pocket is, so its been aggravated by keys/phone a lot.
I can't really see it in the picture, so FYI the ring around the center is yellow. Guys am I gonna hafta amputate or what.
Looks like a tarantula bite, you need to go to the doctor before you lose it
>>2124699
Y-youre kidding, right? I just googled tarantula bites and the images were terrifying. Also I'd think I'd notice a tarantula living with me.
Anyone here have any experience working with Asian vine snakes (Ahaetulla sp.)?
Yeah. Normal procedure for keeping a vine snake:
>acquire vine snake
>take some nice ass pictures
>scramble to buy lizards
>fail
>try to feed it mice
>fail
>get it lizards finally
>it eats them
>it dies in 2 weeks anyway
ya that pics dope as shit
>>2124539
I love Asian Vine Snakes ever since I saw them in the wild
ItĀ“s really a bummer that they pretty much only eat lizards
If it werenĀ“t for that, IĀ“d have a few of them.
>neighbor's dog keeps wandering onto my lawn

Why would you post such obvious bait on a slow board like this
Now we're all just going to laugh at you
I feel like my dog is getting old.
She's 7 years old. And I've been noticing it. She's been laying down on her bed and around the house a lot more than she used to and today when I tried to take her for a walk around my whole neighborhood loop she had to lay down to rest in a drive way for a couple of minutes.
Sometimes she refuses to walk at all. Is she just getting old?
Depends. Some breeds 7 is about all they last. Others last to 15.
It all depends.
>dog is 13/14
>cat is 15 and feLV+
I am not prepared despite they act like they have always had.

Take her to the vet, get her a good full scope checkup, then you'll know for sure. If somethings up with her heart though, you'll be able to catch it.
I am adopting a heartworm positive dog in the coming weeks. She is getting her injections this week, and I will be allowing her to rest for 2 weeks before taking her home (which from my research is when the worst of the complications associated to the treatment are).
Has anyone here gone through heartworm treatment with their dog? Any advice or insight that reading everything online never told you? I really want to make sure she is happy and healthy.
make sure she gets absolutely no exercise for the next 2 weeks and you'll be fine. post some pics of your new doggo :3
>>2124397
Thanks anon. Luckily she is going to be at the shelter for the first two weeks, then strictly regulated bed rest for 4-6 after that.
She is getting the two-shot protocol, so I am a little worried she might need another round of treatment in a few months.
Also this is the pupper in question. She is a qt.
>>2124478
Adorable pupper OP, good on you for adopting her in spite of the medical issue.

Anon who frequents advice here, where I saw your other thread. Note that you said exotic vets are rare wnere you live so the take it to the vet meme won't really work in this situation

what bat specie is this?
also bat thread
it's called Little Brown Bat
>>2124214
The only species I know that definetly "walks" like this is Desmodus rotundus
But the belly of this guy is too dark, so it might be Diphylla ecaudata, but I don't know if this species is also able to "walk" on the floor
>>2124233
look at this nerd lmao
I bought this guy from a pet store 3 days ago. His name is nibbles and ive tried to leave him alone to let him adjust. I noticed that whenever i take him out of his cage and put him back, he goes into the corner and does nothing. He makes some sort of noise and looks like he bites thing in anger. What do i do? I want to take really good care of him but im worried im fucking up
dude hamsters are massive chodes
>>2124513
Explain
>>2124521
They're solitary animals by nature and don't seek your attention. At best, they'll come to tolerate it.
>He doesn't sing stupid made up songs to his dog and/or cat
>He doesn't say 'Bless you' every time the dog and/or cat sneezes
>He doesn't ask the dog's and/or cat's opinion on the situation at hand regularly
>he's not autistic
>He owns a bird
>He doesn't regularly threaten his doggo or kitcat with physical and emotional violence but in a happy and excited tone
What it this thing? Came out of a wooden desk.
Can you post a better picture? It kinda looks like a bedbug, which if so you're fucked and should set fire to the desk and the guy you got it from
Former pest tech here. That's a bed bug. You better hope there isn't more around. Treatment ranges from 300 to 2000 dollars depending on size of household and infestation.
>>2123834
This guy right here.
You're fucked like Chuck, OP.
Okay, so I'm helping my family dredge dead plants and weeds around dock area of where they live in Northern Wisconsin.
Every so often with the muck we get snails, dragonfly nymphs and these things. At first I was thinking they were tadpoles. I just cupped them, moved them to the shore area where we weren't dredging and let them swim away.
Now one of them had a redish stomach and right after I touched him I started feeling like got stung and saw this single, large spine sticking out of its dorsal area. It had enough umph to draw blood and it's still...

Most can sting, it's under their neck-ish area, especially small ones will sting
Just keep it clean and take pain killers, you'll be ok bro
>>2123802
Tadpoles or the catfish? or both?
But the one that stung me a few times was really small.
>>2123796
Probably a channel cat. They have dorsal spikes and you'll be okay. Been stung plenty of times.
