I saw a squirrel attack and destroy a sparrow nest today, killing (and presumably eating) the nestlings in the process.
I am shaken. I had no idea that squirrels preyed upon other animals. Why are squirrels such bastards?
Because they are rats with fluffy tails
Next question please.
>>2140606
They eat each other too. Gray squirrels are not afraid to do unpleasant things to survive.
Damn nature, you scary.
What is this? My dad was telling me that my cat had a tick, but he's had this for as long as I can remember in recent memory.
tumor, probably fine

He is 11 years old so could something like this have developed over time?
Hi /an/, I found this messenger dove stuck on my neighbors upstairs window ledge (it has a tag on its leg).
Its almost 11pm here and my neighbors are away for the week, it hasn't moved for a few hours so I assume it doesn't have enough room to take off. My main concern is if it gets tired and falls one of the local cats might pounce on it.
Any have any advice on how to help it? I live in the UK if that helps with who to contact.
>carrier dove
this is still a thing? I'm impressed
>>2140012
I think its more for the sport than actual necessity, its still there too.
>>2139992
Any chance you can draw it down with water? Try pouring water slowly into a bowl while it has you in its sight.
Most places need you to capture the bird first

Hello bros, I just found that I have bees in my window frame. I love these little motherfuckers, but know nothing about them. What can I do so they are comfier? Can I provide with whatever these little shits eat? Thanks
Pic related, it's a bee
>>2139742
just leave the alone thats pretty much it. maybe you could leave out some sugar water or something?
>>2139744
a little plate with sugared water? nicee, will try.
I'm happy because I was just browsing the chans when I see a bee getting off my window, and I was like wtf so I look at it and see another bee getting out of a hole in the frame. Yesss, they qt as fuck, would waifu them desu
they laying eggs in the hole.
the solitary bee you (probably got) in your home makes small closed off sections in a hole and lays nectar/food for the egg she lays inside.
sugar water can "revive" a dying bee, but they crave nectar. although if they have passed by a good plant with nectar they will remember and return the next day.
Anyone here have experience with keeping a male betta in their sorority?
What?!
Like your stupid little college whore house sorority?
Tell him to identity as female.
Although if he's beta then he probably won't be seen as a threat anyway
>>2138708
its a tank full of female betta
so yeah, i guess so
I just bought a potted plant that apparently likes lots of light. Can I use a halogen lamp in lieu of the sun?
No, halogen spectral output is dogshit
>>2138997
It's a very simple plant. All I want is it to not die.
>>2139000
Just stick it in the brightest windowsill available, a shitty heat bulb not designed for plants won't do it any good
What does /an/ think of Coyote Peterson and his videos? I think they're are pretty chill and educational and I like how up close he gets to animals I've only seen from far away in real life.
I think that I miss Steve Irwin

>lets himself get quilled by a porcupine just to demonstrate how to properly remove them
he's a pretty cool guy.
Does /an/ like VetRanch?

>You will never have a loving three legged kitty.
Why live, senpai?
My sister has an adorable 3 legged cat; her husband had told her they couldn't get another cat since they had 3 already, and 4 would be too much, but she convinced him that it only counts as 3/4 of a cat so it wouldn't go over the 4 limit.

Dog Etiquette
In this thread we post tips for people interacting with dogs in public.
>Ask before you pet the dog or let your dog come near.
>If a dog is on a leash in an off leash area do not allow your dog to approach before confirming its ok with the owner.
>A dog with a muzzle isnt always a dangerous dog, the owners could just be being cautious.
How about when someone with stranger aggressive dogs have their unleashed dog in a public area? This happens to me every other day when I'm out on a walk, the owners seem pissed that I'm even in existence while they unsuccessfully try to call their dog back
I've just been handling it by standing still, but sometimes I still get bit or I will have to stand there for several minutes with a dog right up to my crotch growling at me until the owner feels 'safe' enough to grab them.
What's the best reaction when this happens?
>>2137445
Kick the dog in the jaw.
>>2137445
Invest in some pepper spray, one for the dog and another for the owner in case they decide to go rabid too.
I got my hamster nibbles 3 weeks ago. Ever since i got him i noticed that he would move slowly, not run on his wheel or run at all, and sleep a lot. At first i thought maybe he was just lazy but today i picked him up and noticed he has pic related. Idk what it is and hes probably had it since i got him. I think maybe he got that from the petstore either from poor care or fighting with the other hamsters. Please /an/ idk what to do. Its 3:00am so no vet is open and i feel really bad for not noticing or suspecting anything sooner. I love animals and i just dont know what to do....
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Im gonna mini dump some pics of him
Giant Jurrasic Park Sized Gator Walks Across Golf Course thescoupe.org
what the hell would you do if that thing made a run at you?
you'd die, would be my guess
they should probably hunt him down before he kills somebody
>>2135445
>First kneejerk reaction is to kill it
Why not relocate it?
>>2135445
Literally walk away from it. Alligators on land are very slow, and won't even try chasing someone because they know full well they're too slow. Especially one of that size.

Are these your videos? You actually made this?
qt as fug, well done OP.
Is it true that if you die near your cats they will begin eating you within minutes?
Because this kind of grosses me out, I don't want my cats to eat me. Is there a way I can train them to not look at me as food?
>>2133539
>within minutes?
Not within minutes.
But imagine you were trapped in a house with nothing to eat and only a dead human. Shit, if there was a zombi apocylips you'd probably reverse the roles and eat kitteh.
>Is it true that if you die near your cats they will begin eating you within minutes?
yes, that is a 100 percent true thing that has happened many times.
Not within minutes.
Absolutely any carnivorous animal that is physically capable of it will eat you when you die if they are otherwise stuck in the house without food.
you mean /kot/ general
