Male dobsonfly. They're harmless and the mandible are cool looking.
Thank you anons
YES
I got interested in jumping spiders lately, and the intelligence they have it's incredible, the salticidae are considered the more advanced spiders, they can see colors, they learn and solve problems.
But the most interesting part are the mating rituals. it looks to me like this spiders evolved to favour intelligence and creativity.

Dear /an/, I need your advice. I'm really torn apart by this. I can barely eat, I can't sleep and I'm feeling like shit all day long. This is my situation: two days ago I rescued three little mutt puppies (around 2 months old) from this bike path that's parallel to a highway. Some heartless piece of shit let them there to die. They were all dehydrated, hungry and had some fleas. There was a cardboard box a few meters from where I found them. I put them in the box and tucked in between my handlebars and my chest. I was a real pain but I managed to get them...

First off, good on you for taking them in. They're lucky you were there.
As for what to do, if you have any way to network with friends, online, on facebook or sites like craigslist, now is the time to do it. I wouldn't give the pups away for free (too easy for people meaning to hurt them in some way,) but a small fee.
If you absolutely can't find them homes in a timely manner, is there a friend who could take them in until they find homes? Or maybe help you out financially so you can continue caring for them until you can find them homes?
Does your country have something like Craigslist? Maybe you could put up some flyers around your neighborhood.
Maybe ask friends/family to help, kind of spread the burden? Like you take them one day, a friend the next, etc. Otherwise yeah just focus on finding them homes, not for free but cheap enough they'll be a good price.
How do I get rid of ants?
They invade my bedroom every summer and this has to stop.
I feel your pain.
Try Antrid, or some similar product. It's a liquid they collect and take back to the nest that poisons the whole colony.

Wow I just wanted them to not come to my room.
How about a Prehistoric/Extinct Animals thread?
I am absolutely fascinated by Cambrian Period fauna, I can't read enough about them.
Could you imagine seeing on of these creatures in the flesh?
I also think the Cambrian is the most interesting era. Out of all the scientific mysteries, the Cambrian explosion might bother me the most.
Meet Dendrogramma Enigmatica, scientist believe that this little sumbitch is a glimpse to what life during the Ediacaran period might of looked like.

Anybody have any tips for taking care of Lyretail Swordtails? My mom got two and she's put me in charge of setting up their tank. Right now they're just hanging out in a tank with a filter, light, and gravel at the bottom. I read that they like live plants and warmer water, so I'll pick up those and a tank heater soon.
These Aspie Rasboras are way more active, less shy, and fun to look at than my Sawbwa Barbs, glad I made the switch. Kinda miss my Honey Gouramis though...

Mollies need a bit of mineral content. Otherwise you start getting shimmies and whatnot
Why are Asians afraid of dogs?

I dunno. Why /are/ Asians afraid of dogs?
I haven't noticed that.
The black people in my neighborhood are always scared of my dog, which is wierd because she's a 40 lb border collie. Not an intimidating dog.

I thought mostly Middle Eastern and Hispanic people hated dogs. I took my old lab mix out for a walk at my old apartment, and a Hispanic dad and his son saw it and went right back inside.

Mornin' /carnivorous/ general. I'll try and stray from Nepenthes for once - what's the tastiest shit I can grow on a sunny windowsill? I have strawberries and plums outside, but unfortunately I'm moving soon so I'll want to try something edible indoors.

If you were going to make a Witch's Garden of poisonous plants, what would you put in it?
Why doesn't Disney Orlando have gator nets/traps?
Why don't Nebraskans keep their 2 year olds away from dangerous marked bodies of water?

Why do you have a Puppy
>>2166966
she's my family's mostly. if you have a dog it belongs to every member of that family wouldn't you agree?
>>2166962
>my puppy doesn't see me for a few days.
Then who does it see?
Apparently whoever is taking care of the dog when you are not around for a few days is now the owner. This would be thier problem. They probably don't have an issue with the dog pissing from excitement because they are now socialized with the animal, and it sees them as part of the pack.
Is this mange?
looks more like allergies to food or fleas to me but a vet would know best
