33 KB,
Have a cat. About 11~ years old. Has these bumps along both sides of her on either hip. If you even get close to them or touch around them she meows a little, her backside twitches and she licks herself down her chest.

Any thoughts on what this might be?

Pic related.

Could be a tumor, bruise, cysts or some sort of reaction to something.
>>
Are they symmetrical? When did they develop?

>>2154091
This guy's right. Cyst is the most likely explanation, especially if she's fat.
>>
>>2154103
They are symmetrical and she is fat. I can't remember when they appeared though. Perhaps within the past few years? Just noticed them really.

Maybe try some medicine for hotspots? Also maybe try to keep her indoors except for potty time? Maybe there is a plant or something in the yard that she is allergic to, but you didnt dose the benedryl right? Get her a cone to stop the biting and something to stop the scratching as well.

As hard as it is, OP, I would go to the vet. If she is chewing and scratching at the spots that bad, there is a high probably it will get infected. GO now to get some topical shit and some antibiotics. It will be painful but cheaper to go now than to keep trying home remedies and have...

Thanks bud. I still have some Doxy on hand in case of infection and will probably call the vet. They sometimes just give me supplies without a checkup because they know how she is.

I have leaving her alone to go get things though because she knows she isn't supposed to bite but does so when she knows I'm not here to correct her.

>very specific areas
what areas?

could be a hotspot, could be a fungal infection, could be allergies, could be stress, could be a pulled muscle or fractured bone (yes, really)

my dog had what I thought was a hotspot on his foot (family had just visited and he was irritated by my 8y/o brother for a week in my tiny ass apartment). topical stuff didn't work and it was going to get infected, so I took him to the vet. she said it was likely that he'd sprained his...

92 KB,
Welcome to the plant general, for all discussion of plants and horticulture.

How are your plants doing this summer?

Old thread:
>>2136487

The plant of the day is pic related, called "Yareta." The plant looks like a moss growing on a rock, however it is actually a relative of parsley and grows stand-alone like that out of the ground. To reduce heat loss, the plant grows extremely dense and has the same hardness of bark, allowing you to stand on them. They only grow about 1.5cm per year so a large plant like...

>>

It's not, unfortunately. I've read it's as hard as bark.

As I understand locals will take the plant and burn it as an alternate source of firewood. Since the plant grows so slowly, this is an unsustainable practice.

66 KB,
Sometimes my dog gets spooked at night and barks viciously for no reason when I let it out. I don't want to wake my neighbours.

Is there an easy way to make a muzzle or something ensuring it won't bark? I just need it to dissuade barking for when I let it out to pee.

Don't want to buy a muzzle cause the size might not fit and I don't need bite protection.

Dogs don't bark for no reason, anon. Chances are you've been marked. If your dog wasn't barking to ward them off you would be dead.
>>
>>2154642
Very funny, obviously it's barking because it thinks there's a threat. Maybe it hears people far away and because it's night it's more defensive.

My dog also barks at treelines because it thinks there might be something in there. It's just pre-emptive. It's funny but not at night

Chagas is spread by Kissing Bugs which bite for a bloodmeal. Assassin bugs only bite if provoked. Keep him in a small terrarium and feed him your enemy bugs. And name him Leon.
