Me and my gf just bought a second guinea pig from petsmart. After taking this one home it fell over in ts cage collapsed and bleeded heavily through its nose and died. This was within an hour what could have happened and could my guinea pig that was bought at the same place have what it has?
Unfortunately many pet stores have a company that ships these animals to them, and they suffer a lot of trauma during the packaging process. Maybe you just got unlucky and managed to pick one with hemorrhaging in the brain or some shit.
>work at shelter >couple wants to fill out application for young absolutely batshit crazy lab mix >be looking at their answers >they want an "already trained adult dog" >plan on leaving her outside 8+ hours a day (it regularly gets below 30 here) >refuse to take her to any sort of training >have young children that are at the... Damn OP they sound awful. I'm glad you didn't adopt out that dog to them, though. I have a friend who makes me rage >she has a 6 yr old toy poodle >milky eyes, she refuses to admit its cataracts >dogs teeth are rotting >her family feeds him table scraps constantly >poor socialization, he's scared of new people and even the calmest of dogs >never gets walked. this dog is SIX and still uses potty pads despite the family having a fenced front and back yard
>recently injured his hip by jumping off the bed >she tells me that he whines when he needs to use the stairs so someone will carry him up or down >ask if she took him to the vet >no, he's just acting injured because he's a lazy dog
I feel so fucking bad for this dog. Poodles are usually so outgoing and intelligent but this dog is neurotic and useless. To make things worse, thus girl is planning to get a new dog when she moves out of her parents' house.
>walk past some guy with a german shepherd >it just sits in a pen outside all day >barks at everything >pass him one time while he was giving it a short walk >it starts going crazy barking >he boots it in the face 5 times until it cries
Any reliable articles on torture breeding and the welfare of pugs/bulldogs/similar? I'm trying to write a paper about this shit, but I've only found a few reputable sources that I'd want to have under my belt while trying to prove a point. I know this definitely isn't the right place, but I know there's somebody on here who has too much free time and knows where I can find articles outside of blogspot.
>>2013290 Pedigree Exposed has linked some case studies and articles. You'll have to comb through the biased blog to find them. They recently did a whole month of looking through the pug's unhealthy structure.
Something else you should look into is reading up on what makes good structure in a dog, and then examining the breed standard itself! Breed-specific structural issues especially. Genetic diseases can be avoided, but things like short muzzles and excessive wrinkles are required and unhealthy.

There's an orange tabby I might be adopting. She's about a year old and her previous owners declawed all 4 paws, then got rid of her because they wanted a dog instead. The cat is super sweet and I plan to keep her indoors only (since she can't defend herself anyway), but I've never had a declawed cat before.
Do they have worse behavior issues or are more likely to bite?
When I was little my mom got me a kitten for my birthday and the first thing she did when I picked her up out of the box was go to town, destroying my neck so my mom had her declawed. She was always a feisty thing, even in old age. I did not notice a change in her personality she would still try to scratch me when she was pissed even though she hadn't had claws in years. She only bit very rarely.
The only problem we really had with her was that she would vomit all the time, like several times a week. Vet said that there wasn't anything wrong with her, she just... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
declawed cats tend to be more aggressive and go straight to biting when in fear since they don't have their claws. I've noticed they tend to be much more shy as well, which makes sense considering their natural defense mechanism is gone
many vets also caution that declawed cats are prone to arthritis due to not stretching when scratching things to sharpen their claws like other cats do
additionally, they will sometimes be very picky about what litter they will and will not use because of how it feels on the mutulated paws, so finding a litter they like... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hi /an/! Yesterday I noticed our Megalechis thoracata is all swollen up. Especially his eyes and belly. He is about 10 years old and I read that their life span is around 5 years, but his buddy is also about 10 years old and he is fine
>>2012223 >I dont usually see them poop I never saw my hoplo poop either for years. At this point I figure, it's magic. >10 years old and I read that their life span is around 5 years Take that with a grain of salt. They are relatives of corys and some of those live for ~20 years or even older. >all swollen up. Especially his eyes and belly Sorry, I can't help you with that, mine never had a problem like this. But... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
My cat died. I didn't know what to do so I took him to the vet for cremation. I wish I didn't. I wish I washed him and trimmed his nails and shined his coat and bought a nice set of beads and put him in a basket with flowers and toys and out the basket on a raft and set it on fire and pushed it to burn until it sank at this really nice spot in the woods I run at. I wish I had. I was so devestated. I wish I printed his paw with ink and gotten it tattood on me where he would always knead me when I slept. I loved him so much. My sweet boy.
I could use some advice. 2 weeks ago we took my little buddy to the vet because he was breathing hard. He weighed 5lbs when we brought him in. They drained 3lbs of water from him and told us he has severe heart disease. It cost us $1800 plus $500 for the medicine. We have to give him 3 pills 2 times a day. It is difficult to give him the pills and he hates it. The doctor says he would have 3 months to live but his breathing is getting worse. My family said that I should be the one to make decisions regarding him because I am the closest to him. What should I do?
>>2011394 >He helped me go through depression. And right now was the worst possible moment he could've died, as I've had one of the worst weeks I've had in a fucking year. >I just feel like shit and drinking heavily to stop the pain. Same shit here, cat died a few days ago.
This is hitting me so much harder than I thought it would and whenever anything else bothered me this much I always just went to my cat, I'm trying to avoid drinking,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
