I've had shit luck the past two weeks. Company location closed and I was transfered to a new city. Away from friends (no contact with family). Upon coming here I broke my leg painting my new place. I'm to be off of it at least another three weeks.
I have my dog with me who is a medium breed and high energy. I use to be able to take him on one to two hour walks daily which keeps him level. Of course in an air cast with crutches this isn't an option. I've took to lunging my dog much like you would a horse to check its gait and... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
That really is pretty shitty luck, but at least I can't see any problems with running your dog in circles. Only thing I can suggest is making sure he runs both clockwise and anti-clockwise- it's probably less important with dogs as they're much smaller and less affected by slight imbalances, but horses need to be lunged in both directions for balance and flexibility and it won't hurt him to change direction. If he likes fetch, that can also be pretty good as he's sprinting repeatedly while you're sitting still- you can get those handy toys that... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I am definitely not a misanthrope, I love many aspects of my humanity. But whenever I really stop and think about what the human race has done do this planet, I feel sick to my stomach. I try not to focus on the news, but as much as I try to ignore it, these concerns keep coming back. Sometimes I worry how human wars and conquest will affect nature, and I understand how humans operate. We have no regard for the natural world, humans don't care about maintaining sustainability as long as the money keeps flowing in. We nearly destroyed a lot of bird populations through the... Welp, the key is to make it so that you are happier than them. They want to be stockbrokers and swim in hookers because the rap vids tell them to.
We just need to have more fun and lighten up, but hold true to what is right, and speak out. Have fun, make friends, and if you can show them what nature can do, they will start to understand. I've posted so many scientific plant and bug names that other people have been posting them too, do you know how much knowledge their accessibility makes?
Help people learn the sciencey names and understand that most... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2021484 And in the long run, we have spread the means for new speciation. Hawaii wasn't covered in as many flowers as it is now. It didn't have enough constantly blooming flowers to support hummingbirds, but now it does. We are witnessing speciation. We brought dandelions everywhere and they are able to destroy our roads, and fix the soil that we so carelessly trample. They help you digest fatty food.
Nature changes, and even if life gets set back to bacteria, Keep in mind that 99% of known species went extinct... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Is there some chemical shit specific to each person that dogs can sense that can put them off, or something like that? My dog hates me for no reason that I can discern
>family gets yorkie poo 5 years ago >she's an angel all things considered >loves my parents and sister, always excited to see them come home >doesn't give a shit when I walk through the door >we've always taken equal turns walking her/playing... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I found this guy crawling across my floor this evening in my kitchen. I don't know how it got inside, but I've never seen a caterpillar inside my house before, so it was a bit of a surprise to me. I'm hoping someone could tell me what species it is and if I should put it outside and hope it survives or give raising it a shot.
For what it's worth, I'm in Western Oregon, specifically Corvallis, and the weather has been mid-40's with endless downpours of rain, so I'm worried that it would just freeze or drown if I put it outside.

>>2019849 what you've got there looks like an army cutworm.
they're a pretty common pest, but if you'd like to try your hand at raising it you'll need some plants and some dirt. They don't really eat the plants usually, they just cut the stems and kill the plant. So if you want to fatten it up you'll need lots of whatever plants it's eating.
they pupate underground I think. So dirt is a requirement for them.
