Dear /an/
What the fuck is this thing?
Another blurry picture!
And one more!
That would be a tick.
Recently started dating a girl with a Dachshund that keeps its distance from me while continuously barking. If I try to get any closer to show it I'm friendly it will back up and bark more.
I don't have faith in my girlfriend or her family to train the dog.
She will act nice if we are locked in a room for a while but will switch back to her old habits if I'm around the entire family in the living room.
Today while dropping my girlfriend off and walking her inside her dog started barking at me. I swiftly caught up to her and grabbed her. She...

You're an idiot to have done that if you did it without permission. I hope you cleaned up her pee and shit because that was on you. Your girlfriend needs to tell her dog to shut up and give it a swift kick in the ass.
Not really, you made her fear you more. She was scared of you, hence backing away and barking. Then you gave her a reason to fear you, by catching her while she is running, forcefully holding her even after she looses her bowls, which is another sign of fear and an attempt to get the 'attacker' (you in this case) away from her.
Instead you should go slow, offer her treats, or be the one to feed her and walk her. This way, she will know you are more than an intruder in her house and a potential threat. Good luck
if the dog also barks at your girlfriend and her family, than you may have done the right thing.Since that would meant that the dog sees itself as the alpha of the house and doesnt want you in there but if she just barks at you than that means that either
a)your girlfriend didnt introduced you to the dog, which is a very simple yet important thing to do since most house dogs are too dumb to understand that if someone is in your houe talking to the house members he/she probably isnt going to kill them or

Why do cockatoos act like such spergs
>>2040696
because just like spergs they don't have any feelings.
>>2040700
I wouldnt go that far, they just think theyre the shit and rock their stupid little head around
>>2040700
I think it's the opposite, and they have too much feeling.
Venomous ants and wasps thread
got stun in the cheek as a kid by a hornet
not fun
>Tfw love dogs so much
>allergic to them
JUST FUCK MY FUCKING SHIT UP GOD DAMMIT
I feel your feels anon. Good news though - I was moderately to severely allergic to cats (throat would close up and itch, eyes would be beet red, hives all over my skin) and then I decided fuck it and got a cat. Ever since then, my allergies have been almost completely quelled. Once in while I will get a little rash on my neck after he kneads on me but it's completely worth it. My advice - go for it, bruh.
Same anon again. Also just remembered there are hypoallergenic dogs, and dogs with hair rather than fur (such as poodles) are much better for allergies.

>love dogs
>love cats
>love animals
>people who own pets don't give them the full constant love and affection a living creature deserves, can't realistically support yourself and love an animal properly
>animals is nature die horribly and savagely and suffer from all sorts of shit
>wish animals didn't exist
Humans vanished out of thin air and everything they left behind untouched. Your pet(s) have found a way outside. How long do they last, /an/?
My cats are fine because hey, they're plain old pound cats. One or two of my goldfish might make it if they got into a dam or river. 99% or my tropical fosh would be fucked. Chickens might make it a month or so but would probably get picked off by foxes in the end.
My sheep would last until dogs got them or their wool grew too thick. Flystrike would get them in that case.
My dog, sadly, would either starve or attack a snake and die. I'd hope for snake so its fast.
My girlfriends dogs and cats would all be slaughtered by coyote's
All but her mothers orange cat Morris that is frighteningly rabid for a medium sized cat
The rabbit's a goner. He's big, clumsy, and ain't scare of no thing.
The kitten would be absolutely fine, she was born outside and lived her first 9 weeks outside. The adult cat is disabled, but can still climb and run. She might have some trouble hunting.
>Vaquita Porpoise Faces Imminent Extinction--Can It Be Saved?
>Drastic measures are needed to rescue vaquitas in the Gulf of California.
By Virginia Morell, for National Geographic
>Only 97 vaquita porpoises remain in the wild. Their steep decline is blamed largely on illegal gill-net fishing in the Gulf of California.
"The vaquita, a small porpoise found only in the Gulf of California, is rapidly going extinct, an international team of scientists reported...

meanwhile there's only 1 individual of this frog species left but I don't see you trying to save it.

Good point, we should only focus on the MOST endangered animal and completely ignore all others.
>>2040389
we're currently focussing on animals that aren't even endangered such as lions and rhinos.
fix those that are the most likely to go extinct first, or don't but stop pretending you care.
What's your take on the almighty donkey a.k.a. the ass?

Poopies
So I posted this, and they're some rock formation that I found at the top of a hill in Nayarit, Sinaloa, Mexico. There were thousands of these on the ground and they seemed to be falling off the bigger rock formations.
If anyone knows anything about this type of rock formation plz tell me

Hello /an/ I have questions
today my dog passed away but it seemed so sudden that she passed out of nowhere.
last thurday she wasn't herself lethargic (she usually is playful) then it got worse
>symptoms
early lethargic then eventually bloody diarrhea, loss apetite, depression and she would vomit as well. temperature went down 2-3 degrees and eventually was dehydrated and would not walk later stages.
eventually she went full lethargic and would hide herself and today she had heavy breathing then passed out and...

What is the best animal?
>>2035675
"best" is so subjective there is no correct answer.

I'm interpreting this as 'favorite'. Which would be either Hyena or Dugong

why does my cat like rubbing her face on my feet?
its near constant. she also bites (without biting down, more like teethes) me all the time.
>>2040625
ur cat has a foot fetish. it is the most common fetish
>>2040625
Mine does that to my legs and she gently bites my fingers when I'm playing with her. I'd say it's normal behavior and she just likes you.
>>2040625
She wants the D
Even if they would kill you. I wish bush vipers weren't venomous. They're the coolest shit. So yeah post cool snakes. Also, there are so many versions of this picture. What was its original color?
They also don't do well in captivity.
I'd love a xenodermis but they have a 100% failure rate as far as I know.

Oh man, this little guy is so cool!
hey /an/,
I'm going to college in the fall. how terrible of an idea is keeping a corn snake hidden in my dorm room if I can get the setup right?
>>2038996
Buy a shrunk and mod it out for a snake tank. No one will ever know.
>>2038997
a what?
I've heard it's pretty easy to mod certain types of Tupperware as passable tanks, but I'm not sure about the heat source. my corn would be a baby while it was in the dorm anyway, so it wouldn't have to be huge. and I don't think the RAs can look in closets, so that might work haha. or under the bed.
>>2038996
why would you do that?
