340 KB,
So I've been looking for a dog for the past three months, but I can't decide on a breed, and I need some input/advice from people with personal experience. I've decided on a couple of things though.

>Male Puppy that has been sufficiently nurtured by his mother and siblings as well as socialized with kids.
>Neutering will happen at 12-15 months. (Which many vets and dog trainers encourages to prevent testicular cancer and unwanted agressive and sexual behaviour.)

Stubborn dogs are a pain in the ass, and huskies can be particularly destructive.

Malamutes are more long-distance slow-joggers than sprinters, so you should bear that in mind.

Both malamutes and huskies are notorious for having unreliable recall and high prey drives. So they'll either be excellent tethered campers/explorers/whatever, or nightmares that you're going to lose some place and end up having it shot for looking wolfy. Which happens more than you'd think, depending on your location.

With German Shepherds and Malamutes, you've...

Back in Ethiopia we used to keep a couple monkeys around. They came from the wild, but everyday they'd show up expecting food and we'd give it to them. We occasionally let them sleep at our balcony, where we'd have a nice campout. They used to beat up on my little brother whenever he tried doing something retarded, it was pretty funny. Man I miss those days.

do animals like weed
143 replies and 13 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
Some do, some don't.

Ruminants will graze on cannabis plants. I'm sure they sometimes do get high. The whole "you have to decarboxylate weed to get any effect" from it is wrong. There are active cannabinoids even in raw weed. If you don't believe me just eat 3, 4 grams of it yourself on an empty stomach and tell me you didn't get high. Spoiler alert, you will.

Disclaimer: In no way am I encouraging or condoning illegal activity of any kind.
>>
*DONT BLOW IT IN THEIR FACES
Animals dont take to being high like you do. If you surprise them with it they will be scared and paniky till they come down.
However if you have a cat cannabis is in the same family as catnip so they will try to eat it. Dogs will eat you stems(and whole nugs if you leave them out). When they do this they know they are getting high. Animals do like it but they are also really dumb and don't know their limit and getting them "baked" is borderline abuse because of how scared they can get.

My goldfish ate my fancy guppy fry when I was 8. It was horrifying. I never did fully recover. Still can't go to a fish fry without cringing

My friend had two hamsters that lived together for like 4 years. And one day the one just randomly decided to kill the other. My friend prefers to phrase it as "HE JUST ATE THE OTHER ONE." She was afraid of the remaining hamster until it died. Yeah...I guess she didn't know much about hamsters.

One of my dogs was at the shelter because he was a chicken killer. The neighbors threatened to kill him the next time they saw him so the owners dumped him at the pound. While I had him he killed two cats neither of which were mine. One was a kitten somebody dumped at the park and he found it in the weeds before I saw it. Felt like shit but really couldn't blame the dog for being a dog. Second was a full grown adult cat that thought it would be a good idea to jump into my fenced in yard with my dogs in it. Not 100% sure which one killed that one but again couldn't...

So I want a predator fish to keep my guppy population at bay. I don't want them to suffer.

What's one will hunt and kill only one guppy at a time , and will allow my guppies to breed?

I have a ten gallon.
Should I get another tank in addition and just use them as feeder fish?

Hello, I just adopted my first dog and I don't have a clue of what breed he is. (he has approximadly 11 weeks).

You won't be able to accurately guess breed mixes until he is fully grown. If he's lanky and his paws are big for his body, he will grow and fill out. He's adorable, though. Good luck!

what do you do with a partially living rat that your snake wont eat
12 replies and 3 images submitted. Click here to view.

>>2054066
See if it's healthy. If it's not, dispose of it. If it is, and your snake doesn't eat it in one weeks time, name it and keep it forever
>>
"Partially living"?

Either it's alive or it's dead.
>>
>>2054066

Had that happen a long time ago. I had a couple of gopher snakes sharing a 4x2 cage and the bigger one was being a really shy eater. Got a live rat just for him, and the smaller snake stabbed it's head out from under the side of the hide and grabbed the rat. The rat was too big for him to eat safely, so I had to tear it away. This did not go well for the rat.

... long story short, I took it out on the patio table and cut it's head off with a kitchen knife. It's the best I could do on short notice.

I know /an/ is completely rabid about how puppies must be 10-12 weeks before you bring them home, or your puppy will get aids/join a gang/beat up hookers/become a beat up hooker/etc ...

Seriously, why? If you google this subject, every single result says 7-8 weeks. Every single one. Go check. I'll wait.

What makes /an/ such experts on this, and the rest of the internet wrong (excluding Yahoo Answers on grounds of retardation)?

I found ONE thing - the fear imprint period puppies go through from 8-10 weeks. Every thing else about waiting longer than...

I don't think that that many people seriously advise 10-12 weeks.
The reason why you wait at least 8 weeks though is partly for physical development and partly because it's a period of socialization where among many other things the puppy learns that hard biting fucking hurts and that you shouldn't do it
>>
>>2054036

8 is minimum, 10-12 can sometimes have benefits for the socializing of your pupper with other dogs and people as well.
>>
>>2054048

Should add, however, that if you are a good owner and will be doing work to socialize pupper, 8 weeks is fine.
