Do you hate dogs? Do you like dogs? If so, explain why.
I like my dog; he's soft, clean, quiet, and makes a good foot warmer.
Pretty indifferent to other dogs unless they are being destructive or obnoxious.

I used to sleep outside in a sleeping bag all summer since our house didn't have air conditioning. Barking dogs were my nemesis.
In a similar format to another post in the cat thread:
Cons:
-slobbery and drool everywhere
-Smell weird
-Don't clean themselves
-More annoying/harmful than cats when untrained or poorly socialized
-Many genetic health issues in purebreds plus pugs, Bulldogs, similar exist
-/an/
-self proclaimed "dog people"
-Require more upkeep in some areas than cats
-Some could/would definitely kill you
Pros:
-Trainable
-Can take places easily
-Bros generally
-Temperaments more predictable because purebreds are more readily available than purebred cats
-Come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and temperaments
-Working dogs
-Can actually be trusted outside in a yard without running away
-Cuter young that don't look like upset gremlins in fursuits
What is the largest crab you can realistically keep as a pet? I'm looking for something bulky like a rock crab, but nothing too spindly or flat like spider crab or blue crab. It also needs to be something you can get in the U.S. so coconut crabs are out of the question.
Crab tanks are advanced tanks
You are a stupid faggot
If you invest in a bigass saltwater setup with a huge chiller you can get sheep crabs or dungeness crabs at asian markets.
If you want freshwater, you can sometimes find african mud crabs also at asian markets.

Dungeon crabs look promising. Not sure about sheep crab, I want something that won't mind being taken to my back yard to play in the mud and eat dead squirrels.
Common animal misconceptions
>I need to be dominant with my dog as i am the alpha!
no, go research proper training techniques and stop watching caeser millan. dominance theory has been disproved.
>I just feed my guinea pig rabbit food, they're basically just rabbits without the ears
Go for it. Enjoy dealing with the scurvy and dead guinea pig.
>Betta live in ponds in the wild!
Yeah, briefly maybe, any longer and they die. This does not give...

No. Your cat is stressed, sick, hurt or afraid

I wish there was some way to outlaw traditional 1 gallon fish bowls. I wouldn't be surprised to hear 99% of betta fish get shoved in those things their whole lives if not just kept in their store containers.
Cephalopoda thread.
OK, here's something I wanted to ask /an/.
So as it turns out giant squids are actually pretty chill, not vicious monsters, but total bros when swimming with Japanese divers. What about the colossal squid, though?
There was a story about a submarine getting "clawed" by a squid - most likely a colossal one, nowadays it's well known that Architeuthis does not have claws -, is there any truth to that? And does anyone have a source, or details on it?
Thanks for any help.
Hi /an/, I'm from /po/ and I figured you guys would know
Is it normal for horses to look like this?
Because this is a stock picture of a horse, I'm going to say yes.
>>2057374
I think OP is referring to the giant turgid testicles, but you know, just a guess. No idea what he could possibly be referring to.
>>2057379
Aren't stallions supposed to be virile?
So everybody has been in the woods, and felt a chill run down your spine. Most of the time it's just you imaging things you pussy, but what about the times where something actually happened.
Tell me your horror stories.

>Tell me your horror stories.
I unknowingly walked between a mother turkey and her chicks and she attacked me.
In Belize we camped by a river and some sort of spooky bugs set up shop in my rainjacket and swarmed all over me the next day and they were so flat against my skin I couldn't brush them off easily.
I caught a bluegill once and the hook lodged into a ball of parasitic worms which came out of the bluegill as I was lifting it out of the water.

I was once charged by what I believe to have been a fisher.
It was night time and I heard some light rustling, which quickly changed into the sound of something running towards me. I turned on my flashlight in the direction of the sound and saw that only a few feet away from me was an angry-looking medium-sized animal.
When the light hit its eyes, it turned and ran.
Hi, /an
I want to get a German Shepherd, but I live alone and I work during the day.
Is this a good idea, or will it wind up being a disaster?
pic unrelated
Older dog would probably be fine, but not a puppy. Varies with adults.
What dog breed would be best for someone who lives alone and works during the day? Assuming I want to get a puppy...

I've found two baby spiders in my house so far. Where there are baby spiders, there is a massive terrifying spider mom
Considering I live in florida, it's possible it's a huntsman and I really want to get rid of it as fast as possible
I'm deathly afraid of spiders and REALLY don't want one that big in my house, positive aspects of spiders be damned. I just can't handle it.
How can I find the mother so I (meaning my friend) can relocate her?
>>2056502
I used to be afraid of spiders. If I saw one in my room at night, I'd have to sleep somewhere else
But spiders are ok. They want to just have a little corner they can feed from. Once they find it, they'll stay there.
They won't bite you or jump at you as long as you don't disturb it.
>Where there are baby spiders, there is a massive terrifying spider mom
I'm not sure that's the case. I'm not a spider expert but I think most spiders do little in the way of maternal care once the babies are born.
Remember Charlotte's Web? The baby spiders just went their own way.
Not saying you should necessarily use kid's movies as a guide to how life really works but I think most spiders are like that.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
>>2056526
I know this to be true, and my rational mind holds it as true
but my irrational fear is forcing me to live my own personal hell until I find this spider, if it hasn't died. In which case, I now have a couple hundred of its children to deal with.
>>2056531
The logic I was trying to get at is that there had to be a mother spider close by to give birth to the little shits/lay the eggsac, they didn't look older than a couple of days
Australia, what are you feeding this kangaroo?

Baby-fed dingos of course.
Thumbnail looked like a camel at first, that was weird.
Repotting edition.
Apparently you're meant to do it early spring before the tree wakes up but seasons don't mean shit anymore so my tree grows when it likes. Looked pretty much like pic related so hopefully I did it more good than harm. There was sand and bits of gravel in its old soil, it was weird.
Spring is coming guys, the plants are returning!

Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.
Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size
-parameters
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

yeah! go get a mutt with no use what so ever in the real world who is too weak and too small to do any actual work but instead lies areound all day and loks stupid.
or you can, you know, get a pure breed with the qualities you need for the job but get it with pedigree from a good breeder and not some backyard whitetrash who fucks brozthers and sisters together and sells their pups. you could do that. and when you get it if its a large powerful breed you can, you know, work out with it, make sure you run with...

You're both colossal faggots. Any dog that's healthy, friendly, and isn't bred to be fucked up like dalmations, gsds, pugs, bullies, double merles, teacups, etc. is a great fucking dog, regardless of being a mutt or pedigreed.
Lemme see all ur birds
Not my bird but while crashing on a couch this dick woke me up by biting my lip and screaming at me in demands to pet him. He doesn't even like me unless I share my pear with him or I specifically go in to scratch his neck.
I like birbs but they don't make sense to me.
