What are some good animal documentaries?
Is there something recent and similar to Planet Earth?
The Hunt with David Attenborough, but it's only available to watch in the UK so torrents are your friend.
Antarctic Edge: 70 degrees South and especially Nature: Meet the Coy-wolf. The coy-wolf one was pretty awesome. It explores coyote wolf hybrids living in urban environments and adapting to us.
Black Fish
Anyone else love monitor lizards enough to share a room with one? I find them to be the very fun and I love their bad dispositions. I'm seven months in with my Argus, I wanted a Dumeril's but I couldn't find captive bred specimens. I am happy with my Argus but they are just as cranky as a nile! At least mine is out 85% of the time, some indicus species hide most the time. Anyone have any stories or want to share picture of your, this is the thread!

Picture of Fiona up close.

S-someone on /an/ keeping monitors properly? Awesome looking argus, I have a water myself.

When I was fourteen my young savanna escaped me, I mean flew out of my hands and it went straight down into a creek. This Argus, Fiona, is my second attempt 21 years later (35 now). Waited to finish college (still have shitty job, thanks Obama) and here I am again. Max will always be in my heart and I still feel like a dumb ass letting him "get some sun" without a leash.
Who would win?
this is science bitches.

would you people stop with these shitty threads?
a fully grown grizzly bear weighs more than twice that of even the biggest silverback, is more heavily armed, and outclasses the gorilla in nearly every department but brains
A gorillas brains would serve to avoid the fight in the first place, grunting, throwing rocks and sticks, standing to look bigger, etc, anything it can do to discourage the grizzlys attack. Once they come to blows, the gorilla has already lost.
An american black bear would be a...

So my house is right on the edge of a reservation, and there's a fox that occasionally wanders by. I'm wondering if anyone knows a safe way that I could encourage it to come by more often. I'd love to see it more frequently. As it is, I've only seen it about eight or nine times in the past four years. A few weeks ago, I found him sitting by the back door (which is a big glass door), just staring in with his nose less than an inch from the glass.
I want to encourage him to come by more often, but I don't want to do anything that would make him...

Don't you dare try and take an animal from the wild
>>2085227
No, of course not. What I meant was, what can I do to make him come near my house more often? I don't want to take him in, I just want to see him outside more often.

he's a dog.

Why the fuck would we want your life story, jesus.
Neuter yourself while you're at it.
>>2086845
that's exactly the kind of idiocy i see on the pro neutering pages. not talking about gender identity retard. you've read too many feminist vegan blogs. its getting surgery, wearing a cone, getting a part of its body cut off, and who knows, maybe diabetes
I adopted a lovely 4 year old big tom cat a few weeks ago and he's an affectionate bastard but after a minute if heabutting your hand got pets he flops down and wants to wrestle. No claws but plenty of biting and nipping, just play bites though. It doesn't really hurt I'm just not sure if this is normal behaviour or if he might get more aggressive.
Do your cats like rough housing about?
He is an outdoor cat but he can't go out for another week.
This is the first time I've had, all the cats I grew up with were female.
Outdoor cats get like that when you have to keep them indoors for a long time for whatever reason. He should calm down once you start letting him out again.
>>2086816
That's not the reason for bite inhibition. Boredom, sure. But not biting, that's just silly
>>2086808
Try dipping your hand in hot sauce or lemon juice and bait him into biting. Bite inhibition happens for a variety of reasons, but now you have to make biting people seem like a shitty thing to do, AND give your cat something else to bite and play with instead.
You're sitting at your computer, browsin' the chans, when suddenly....
A wild Pissdog appears!
Whether you're on another board, writing a story, or just fucking about on random boards, our dogs always seem to know when to go incontinent. Come, fellow anons. Let us attempt to get to the bottom of this pisstery!
What?

I fostered a myriad of dogs, and while some will pee in the house, this has never happened to me, let alone happen often.

UTI, old age, or both. See your vet.
Can somebody please tell me why they refer to this frog as a "Mountain Chicken?"
>>2086663
big like a chicken. tastes like a chicken.
My immediate assumption would be they have a call that sounds vaguely chickenlike.
Saw this cute little fella outside my work. Thought about picking it up but when I looked closer it had a bright orange underbelly and thought it might be toxic. Any idea what it is? I'm in western Washington.
metamorphized mudskipper
Brown recluse.
>>2086626
rough skinned newt.
yes, toxic.
What breed is this dog?
German shorthaired pointer/poodle mix
Can't tell size from pic but if its 6-8 lb looks kinda like my sister in laws yorkie / toy poodle mix
brown recluse
The two brown ones are the same breed but look different is one of them a rooster?
>>2086380
The two partridge-colored ones look like Easter Eggers (also sometimes called Ameraucanas). If that's what they are, there's quite a variety among that "breed" of chicken. At this age, I can't tell the males apart unless I watch them interact with each other. The males will be confrontational little assholes, pecking at the other chicks.
The cat got ran sometime between yesterday and this morning.
And I was the one that let it out yesterday night....
sorry...
It's your fault, anon.
