Does anyone here have to deal with pets having bad breath? Recently, every time my new cat meows, it sends me reeling. I don't want to be around him as much because of how awful that rancid odor is when he opens his mouth. What are your experiences? I'm gonna get pic related ASAP.
No, are you shilling that, what even is it, feed your cat better food.
Ok, no, some stuff that turns pet water into drinkable mouthwash I guess, what would you reccomend

I recommend checking with the vet to see if it's a medical disorder.
My dog had her birthday. I thought this pic came out cute

Alright /an/ I'm Jewing my school for a service animal. Which one should I adopt?
bamp plz
I think the one on the left is prettier, but the one on the right is also wearing a tie so this is an impossible choice just by looking at them.
Do you know anything of their personalities? Go with that.
>>2086126
nope, they both say they're friendly. I should go check them out.
Thoughts? Comments? What does this mean for the future of zoos and marine parks?

It means less people will be exposed to whales and ultimately lose interest in them, resulting in no one caring when they go extinct in the wild.
They should be replaced with captive breeding programs for endangered whale species.
Pic related, the vaquita is the most critically endangered cetacean in the world. Captive breeding efforts are desperately needed, and marine parks and zoos are the few places that have the facilities to do so.
The also announced a partnership with the HSUS. They're already trying to stop other dolphin breeding programs. Pretty much any breeding program is a no-go as long as HSUS is involved.
Rat and rat accessories
It really should be rat and mouse general in my opinion.
When my rats ever got excited due to petting or food they would get the hiccups, along with the normal bruxing and boggling. Has anyone else had their rats get hiccups? I doubt it's anything serious but I was just curious.
everyone says rats are smart and shit like little dogs almost. They also have small bladders and pee everywhere.
So can you potty train a rat like a dog? Just have like a small litter box when they are out of the cage that they run to every time they need to tinkle
Okay, potentially retarded question here, but I'm suddenly curious..
Can anyone tell why a living organism like a plant/tree etc. is capable of replacing/regenerating a lost limb whereas say an animal (a human in this example) is incapable of doing so?
Because we are not trees/plants.
a plant doesn't replace anything, it just grows as much as it can. if you think about it, this is why pruning works. lrn2biology
The wiring that plants have to run through things to make them work isn't as finicky and their body plan is a lot more modular.
My parents have a black lab x some sort of pit mutt who is absolutely lovely and well behaved despite her tremendous about of energy. Very obedient and calm for the most part until you signal to her that it's time for play and then she just explodes into sudden energy, and at the same time can immediately turn that off and calm down once you let her know playtime is over. Good on walks, with kids, other dogs, cats, everything but my parents often go on vacation and bring their two dogs and she gets pretty listless during them. She's fine in the car but it's obviously she just uncomfortable being away from home for more than a day. They vacation where I work so I spent time with her and walk her but I feel so bad about how bummed out she seems. She isn't aggressive or tries to get away, and though meekly she will still press her head against strangers for them to pet her but she doesn't even seem to appreciate the walks and just wants to go lay down with her bone. It isn't a loud place buzzing with people either, it's fairly quiet full of old people.
How can we fix this and make her feel more comfortable away from home? She loves new places but it's just after being away for more than a day does she get bummed out. Can it be fixed at all? She's about 5-6 years old now.
Pic sort of related as she makes this face 24/7 when she's like that.
firstly, post pics
second, play with her, reward her when she's happy. make a positive association with being away from home

I currently cannot find a single pic of her but I'll see if my brother will send me one. She looks like this, only her head is a little wider and her eyes have more of that smaller' squinty look apbts have and her ears perk up more. She also has white spots on her toes.
She also just doesn't play at all. Just mopes around. At most, she will take her bone if I offer her it and chew on it once or twice before laying back down to mope. Its sad to see her go from the happiest dog alive to just be...

If they go on vacation often what would be their other option? Would they hire a pet sitter or would they crate her where she would still be away from home and still be unhappy

Anyone know what's going on with my cat's lip? I figured she just cut her lip on something and it swelled up, but it's been there for probably a week and a half. Any ideas? Wasn't able to get a good picture but I'll try again when I have a second set of hands to help.
OP does it seem like an infection?
Looks like it could be an ulcer. My cat had something like that recently in her mouth. Does your cat struggle to eat? Take 'em to the vet to be sure. I got an antibiotic and a steroid and she was fine in about a week and a half.

Have you found any damaged electrical cords? Might be an electrical burn from chewing on a cord.
Will doing yoga with my dog make him happier?

Wanted a dog since i was 12, now im 20, parents always said no, started to work recently, i want a dogger, best option would be to adopt one since a lot of people break this guys souls and abandon them, have some questions for the dog owners of this place:
>What should i prepare for the dogger? was planning on building a wooden doghouse
>what should i expect in the process of adopting it? dont really care about breed and i would like a mixed breed or mutt
>What would be the best choice?...

As long as you can do everything you said that should be great. I assume since you said you are going to build a doghouse, he has access to a fenced yard all the time? Other than that, you seem concerned enough to make a good dog owner, just remember that they can be extremely expensive though. Food, vet bills, medicine, and any emergency care that could be needed can be expensive. I would build up a large reserve dedicated to the dog in case of emergency vet bills, unless your willing to use your savings account for that (if you have one).. I see to many people on here who...

thanks sorry for taking me so long to answer but was doing some stuff around the house, dog would be on a terrace which would be pretty small for a dog imho (like 200x800 centimeters) but i would walk him a lot and would go running on the nights since its my only real free time, then maybe with time and trust bring his bed close to mine and watch some shit on netflix then going to sleep, im very concerned with the dogs mental and physical health, i didnt adopted before because i saw it was unreasonable and i wouldnt...

I recently lost my pet bird due to my own faults.
Basically what happened was that it was a pretty warm day so I thought when I gave my bird a bath that she didn't need a dry cleaner to dry her up like usual. Then when I got home late at night, I noticed she had a raspy voice and I knew I was in trouble. I planned to take her to the vet next morning but she passed away before that.
The house feels pretty empty because I live alone. I get depressed when I go near the place where her cage used to be or just being inside the house kind of sucks too without her.
It's...

I know that feel.
I gave my cat who was very thin and dying a prescribed medication for appetite that I suspected would kill him, and it did.
Don't get another pet for a while. I'm not sure how egregious a mistake you made since I don't know a ton about birds, but consider reading up more on whatever pet you get next.
>Get new bird that looks different (Different pattern, different species, dosent matter)
>Name bird something that doesn't even sound like original birds name
>Put bird in a new location of the house
