>not already hating snakes
Not all sneks are bad snek!
Hey /an/
Coming to you for advice on my cat.
She's approx. 18mths old, black DSH. Desexed, wormed, got all her shots etc.
Here's my problem:
She keeps scratching at my/my housemates' door at night and early in the morning.
If I keep her in my room overnight she scratches to get out in the morning, and if she's locked out of my/my housemates' rooms then she scratches at the door to be let in. Then, will sometimes scratch to bet let out again a few minutes later. All this would tell me she's doing this for attention. It wakes...

My cat has a scratching post.
It also has free run of the couches, outside and my bed base. It isn't longing for scratching surfaces. It's a different scratching anyway - it isn't a stretching or claw maintenance kinda thing, it's a quick tap-tap-tap. Like she's trying to get through to door. She also tries to stick her face underneath and put her paws under.
It's a cat. It doesn't want to be trapped. Cats are largely nocturnal and don't sleep on your schedule.
There are exceptions, like one of my two. She has full range of the house but hardly leaves my room(door is always open, she isn't skittish or fat, just doest care) and sleeps on my time to the point where she will meow nonstop to let me know its time to get the fuck to bed. Then again, she is also 26 years old at this point.
Not all pets will be convenient for you and you will have to work around them. Your cat is unlikely to stop, but you can...

it's a cat
that dog will live a short miserable life. do not do it.
>buying a designer dog
If you want a mutt with a fancy name, go to the animal shelter and make something up for whatever you adopt. Seriously, designer dogs are a ripoff.
>Buying a """""designer dog"""""
>Supporting BYBs
>Buying a pug
>Supporting a breed that is inbred to the near point of cruelty
>Buying a french bulldog
>Buying a combination of the two
You are going to pay hundreds of dollars for a horrifically unhealthy, terribly bred dog that is going to live a shot, miserable, life, and you...

So there are pink flowers growing around the portable that I teach art in. Unfortunately I have no access to water and have to carry buckets of water to my portable for class. It's a ton of work. So after the kids are done I pour the paint water into the yard around the door. I'm just wondering if these flowers are tinted by the paint or naturally pink. There are no other flowers anywhere around to compare.
those do come in pink
What age of kids do you teach?

Pudding, my dumb cat who figured out that if she knocks over the treat box, it will break open.
Can we get a bone thread going?
After using the Google machine I'm getting alot of conflicting information on what bones are acceptable to feed to dogs and what is not.
I assume lamb is out of the questions as its terrible for their health due to fat content. But I'm also hearing some say raw isn't good either.
Would your average beef bone be ok assuming it is the length of the dogs snout so I can't be swallowed? Raw or cooked? Picture unrelated
>>2120351
Once a month to clean their teeth is what I do.
>>2120371
Yeah but what kinda bone? Beef? Which cut?
>>2120374
Depends on the size of the dog, you cant really go too big but you dont want the dog choking on it so it needs to be large.
Most butchers have beef bones or veal bones for smaller dogs.

Pretty much any Attenborough Doc is a good choice.
Also, just looking up a random subject on youtube yeilds good results. There are some real hidden gems in there that are pretty good.

This one is about plants and it really makes you see things from a different perspective on how plants behave. We aren't that different from them.

I wanna watch some documentaries about deep ocean and waterlife
Forgot this board existed, would've asked here earlier
Found a baby coon in my back yard by a tree. Pretty small and eyes are closed, a little bit of ringing is starting to show on the tail. Looks barely older than pic related.
I noticed it because it was crying. It crawled to the sound of my voice. No way it came a long distance dragging itself, so it had to be from the tree. But I can't see a cavity or nest. It's around 3 stories tall and thick, but it thins out as it goes up and I just can't imagine space for a nest.
Limbs look fine,...

Take it to the vet and if it's fine raise it as your coon bro.

He's dead now
He was a lot less animate by the time I got the laundry basket to him, I assumed he just wanted to sleep. He lived for about 3-4 hours.

Hey /an/,
About two weeks ago I created this aquatic ecosystem a few weeks ago and have loved watching it slowly develop.
Recently though this white slimy stuff as seen in the picture has formed and i am unsure what it is or what could've created it. Any ideas?
Here is what I have in my container.
>10 Aquatic snails
>Duckweed
>Eurasion Milfoil
>1 Zebra Mussel
>algae, but I am unsure what kindComment too long. Click here to view the full text.

i've got limited knowledge about water, but isn't most living stuff gonna die once all oxygen is used up? like dead lakes u know?
Freshwater mussels are a meme.

>white slimy stuff
White algae, not harmful, snails will eat it.
How do I train/prepare my dogs not to be wimps like these
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqLF6pNYOps
kek, dogfags will defend this
>>2119337
Most of those dogs did their jobs as watchdogs.
If you want a man stopper you need to start with a suitable breed and additional training and generally have 2 dogs.
You want your dogs in the 90lb+ range, it needs to be strong enough to take down the meth addict who cannot feel pain that just kicked your door down.
>>2119337
Barking is enough to me. Don't want to risk them attacking people I know or who aren't burglars.
Lets have a general thread about animal jobs; any job that involves animals in some way.
Ask questions about getting an animal job
Share stories about your animal job
Discuss your dream animal job
Etc.
For me, I'm curious what kind of studying I'd need to do to get a job working with a specific animal. If I wanted to work with just otters, or maybe otters and other mustelidae, what kind of background would I need to establish before getting that kind of job?
What do you mean work with, like sit with one in your lap or got out and blast some with a shotgun to steal their teeth and stomach contents?
>>2118958
Well, not the latter, certainly. But I guess a wide variety of things otherwise. Care for, observe, study, train, film them professionally, write on professionally, etc.
Just something where I get to be around these animals without killing or hurting them.
since no one has replied I guess I will. I work in a very low kill stray intake shelter (only euthanizes for extreme medical/behavioral), previously employed at an emergency vet and a large county run shelter in SoCal. the SoCal shelter was hell, the eVet was cool, but over all prefer my job now
I'm almost done with classes to be a CVT, which is just so I can make a bit more money than I am now. still deciding if I want to further my education by going to vet school, or studying animal behavior.
wishbone is the best animal to ever show up in tv and anyone who disagrees is dumb
whats your second favourite famous animal tho?
It's always Godzilla. Made more people interested in animal related carriers than any fishbowl toon.
Fuckin loved Wishbone
