Hey /adv/ I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing with plants as I have never owned one before. I recently received a moon cactus that's in a pot from home depot. How the fuck do I care for this thing? When do I water it?

Put it in a pot about three times the size of that one with a 50/50 mix of soil and sand, put it in the hottest, sunniest place you can find, and give it a good soak once every three months - that's more than you would with a "regular" cactus, but it needs that little bit extra to keep the colour in the graft.
