I've had this issue since i've started browsing here,
I have a nice group of friends but they don't like that I browse 4chan. They browse Reddit constantly, I don't resort to namecalling the site, I just state that I don't like the layout and the system of posting. They don't really like the forum and Imageboard style, I don't completely know but it has to do with age and a common understanding of 4chan.
I just want to be passive about it, but it's getting worse. When I bring up a joke, they say it's cancerous or too old, stating a need to be updated with references. It's always passive, like when I tell that I did something unrelated to the site, they namecall me as cancerous.
The only thing that actually made me full uncomfortable was this

I don't know what to do, I don't want to distance myself from them because besides this, they are great people.

But seriously if you're letting some website decide your friendships then you better take a good look at yourself, and suggest the same to them. I find it silly.
reddit isn't that great, but it's a great way to keep up with the shit people are talking about / things going on around the world. Just lurk if you want to socialise, it's pretty fucking easy.
They sound like dicks though if they're lording the fact that they reddit over you.

I think they just want to get you on board because they want to share their experience there with you. If they are great people like you said.
And if they are, just decline and tell therm again you don't like the site. If they keep insisting they may not be as great people as you say and basically this: >>17339512

Why people just decide to remove people from their lifes so easily? Do you guys have like group of friends to choose from when you are done with some people? or do you rather just be lonely?
