Has anyone else grown drastically cynical after using this site? /pol/ and /b/ have shown me how backwards we've come as a species.

True, but I dont always get to properly hang with people. On top of that, fighting against the degenerates here seems moot (no pun intended). Unless they're posting cp, you have no power to strike back at them.
You caused your cynicism. This site is cynical but it's funny and let's face it, there's a kernel of quality that appears often enough to draw you back here. It's a net positive.

This place is a giant echo chamber for delusion.
When I was growing up if you had a problem with a girl there was no image board or chat room I could run to. There was no MMORPG I could sink my entire life into. There was no con or forum or any of that. I actually had to go outside and face my problems.
Now, whenever you have an issue you can pick your board of choice and a million other frustrated assholes just like you will be there to tell you its everyone's fault but yours.
Instead of having to confront your problems in the context of real life interaction we are now able to compartmentalize them here and growing up or maturing becomes optional. There are now 24,25,26 year old men out there who have the social awareness and introspection ability of a 12 year old and its all because of places like this.
Its not that places like /pol/ have taken us backwards its completely stalled progress. People stop maturing at whatever age they start living their lives on the internet.
In short, this place allows millions and millions of fucking retarded people to connect and create little communities of backwards, ignorant ideologies. Without a community of morons to validate them these people would be forced to step out into the real world and confront the painful reality that its their own fault they aren't happy, not the world's.
