Are you really that clueless to think that there's a special exercise or diet plan that will give you an hourglass shape? You just need to loose weight - burn more calories than you're consuming and you'll see results.

Also, why change your appearance for him? Do it for yourself. I'm a former fatty and I lost weight for the wrong reasons and I feel like shit because of it. You've got to want this for yourself to actually make it work successfully in the longterm.

This implicitly buys into the "energy balance" concept, which more or less says weight is all about calories in vs calories out. This has been known as false for decades and is a disingenuous campaign created by thinktanks and pushed by front groups food large (junk) food manufacturers. It made its way into standardized school nutritional programs so they could brainwash kids into believing "you can eat whatever garbage you want, as long as you get moving! Stay active and work it off!"

It doesn't work that way, and you can't try to view the human body as a thermodynamic system. I'm just putting it out there, it's about content as much as it is quantity. If this isn't accepted and understood, any weight loss efforts are bluntly a waste of time and you shouldn't even bother. You will only ravage your body then return where you started.

Even with corset training, you can't fix your bone structure. I have wide hips like OP pic and no matter how much weight I lose , I'll never look thin. I got down to 13% body fat and still wore size 28 (US 6? maybe ) jeans. Whereas most people can have a nice flat butt and tiny legs with much more body fat. Rectangular girls who corset train will not have the same look, they get a pudge at the bottom even if they're fairly small, and will always have chicken legs. Lifting can only do so much lol

That's right, it can't maintain your blood glucose levels, you can't regenerate liver or muscular glycogen, and since you're in such shit shape you probably have a degree of insulin resistance anyway.

Yes, you won't magically gain weight if you're losing more mass than you're taking in, but it's not a good weight loss strategy. Also, your maintenance requirement is somewhat variable, and it's easy to potentiate a given "calorie" ending up mainly in adipose if you rely heavily on fructolysis, or are consuming certain herbicides that inhibit signalling pathways that down the line lead to potentiating, again, shit ending up in adipose.

It is not a complicated picture, but it is a large one. Do not oversimplify, and do not give people the wrong idea about the actual mechanics. This shit could be so simple if you'd all just let go. Besides, you can't just eat a lot and "work it off" anyway. That's not how nutrient metabolism works.

All you experts out there, do yourself a favor. Look into a simple one, sucrose absorption and metabolism. I'll give a hint. An enzyme in the small intestine splits it in half, and it's rapidly transported across the intestinal wall. Glucose is used normally (look into what "normally" means), fructose goes through fructolysis in the liver. Learn about these processes and rethink your positions.

OP if you want to lose weight, and you want it, I can give you some simple guidelines to follow with a few of my own supplementary tips. Otherwise I'm going to go.

2. Cardio in mornings.
3. Lay off the carbs. You don't need to do keto, but you do need to lay off the rolls, pasta, and refined stuff and sweet stuff. You're done with ice cream and cookies, sorry.
4. Either a salad or some type of veggie smoothie before every meal. You don't have to have *just* veggies, but you do need to have them first, no exceptions. Get your veggies in every meal. GET YOUR VEGGIES IN EVERY MEAL. Veggies = non starchy things (e.g., a potato is not a veggie).

This may seems like it sucks. It will, at times. But then again, your body right now sucks, too. If you don't want to do this, fine, stay fat then.

No. At least not entirely. Leptin is produced by fat cells, and it signals hunger. The moment your blood sugar begins to drop, fat cells release leptin. The more fat cells you have, the more hungry you become when you shouldn't be. There are other signalling hormones that behave similarly. Fructose in particular, also, severely delays the blood sugar elevation, which causes more eating short term. Fat people also have more histamine in their body, which also regulates feeding behaviors in mammals.

The lack of self control comes in when people are made aware of this, or recognize they need to change, but don't have the will. Which yes, is very common.
