Alright /adv/, this is on my inner thigh. I think it's some kind of infected abrasion or a bite or sting of some kind. I just got off a prescription for an infected cut on my leg and I was wondering if there was any over-the-counter way of treating this

My gut feeling is that it could be hidradenitis suppurativa, or in other words, acne inversa. If you are overweight, sweat a lot, sit, and there is chafing between your inner thighs when you walk, this is not surprising. There are three stages to the illness and you probably have stage one. It's a lesser known skin condition and is often misdiagnosed. If you do have this condition you will be prescribed an anti biotic like possibly doxycycline, and you should wear loose fitting clothes, and keep the affected areas clean and try. Most people who have this condition see a massive improvement with weight loss. However, I wouldn't worry unless you start getting more. And again, keep in mind this is not an official diagnosis as I am not a doctor yet and could be wrong. What you should be doing is going to a dermatologist.
