Hello /adv/
I was curious about if the feeling of being alone or unwanted is just a common thing for most people. I never really had many friends that I always hung out with, occasionally there has been times, but it has slowed now that I'm well off alone as an 'adult'. I try my best to be friendly to people to a degree, and I help out those who seem like they could use it. Yet i still feel like I'm just a background character in everyone's life. Is that just a forever thing? I haven't had anyone contact me just to catch up in years, let alone hang out.
Ultimately I just feel like I have a social issue that I am not seeing or trying to fix. Perhaps I'm too shut in with my work and hobbies. I never find anyone who has genuinely asked about me, regardless of how much I try to know a steady acquaintance. Conversations always seem dry with most people within a few exchanges.
What's my issue? Is this normal for others?
Thanks for all your responses.
