I crushed my toenail once, it turned blue and fell off and a new one grew back. You've already seen a doctor, right?

I imagine it depends on how you damaged it, but every scenario I can think of for a cut on your nail should result in it growing back.

Might take a while and be ugly as fuck for a bit though.

Sort of. It's more that they grow out. The break will get further and further from the base of the nail until you can just clip/file/whatever it out.

This could take a couple of weeks, though.

The nail will grow out, but it may not adhere to the nail bed properly which will result in separation and a weaker nail.
