Yes, I agree with you.

I should say that I haven't actually had contact with her in 5 years (we left for college on bad terms) and her family hates me. So even if I wanted to ignite a relationship, it wouldn't work.

At least I have solace in the fact that she now works a near-minimum wage job in a facility where she literally wipes retards' asses.
