>be 24

>figure I'd do a master on top of it
>pick something accountancy related
>I don't get it at all
>the switch year took to 2 years instead of 1
>I finished all subjects of my master in 3 years instead of 1
>my thesis still isn't done yet
>am 30 now
>unemployed
>live with my parents
>still only have my bachelor degree because my thesis isn't done yet
>all my friends have houses and kids
Woopsie. I feel the problem is I can't focus when I don't enjoy something. And I hate the thesis. Especially because everyone around me is pressuring me to do it I can't even focus on it. It's not happening.
Should I just drop the master? I feel like I'm chasing the whale. I've wasted too much time on it. My life is a mess and I feel I need to fix it. Getting a job, a house and a family should be my top priority.
My brother also asked me to start a website with him. If I get a job I can't do that and my thesis at the same time.
What do you guys think? Should I just admit my failure and move on?
I don't understand, did you put your whole life on hold for this masters or something? I also don't understand why it took you 6 years to realise that maybe this isn't for you
what shit school lets you flounder around for 6 years??
>Should I just admit my failure and move on?
yeah.
>start at 24
>took 3 years instead of 1
>be 27
>time warp to 30
>woops i dungoofed
I think the real problem might be the drugs you're on OP.

Yes, I did put everything on hold. Because it didn't go so well I figured I needed to spend more time on it. Quitting never occurred to me before.

second this. really you should have admitted it after 3 years
>>17252708
You know that you can have a relationship and do other things while you're doing a Masters, right? Heck, my uni only offers Masters programmes as part time study, you're expected to be working alongside it

it was supposed to be one in between year, which I turned into two years. And one master year, which I kind of failed miserably in the first year. Then got half the subjects in the second year and the other half in the third year. But I never managed to finish the thesis. If you miss a deadline you have to write an entirely new thesis, which is about to happen right now.

I'm not sure if anything would get done if I studied part time. But perhaps that is the right way to approach it.
I know for a fact my way isn't working, so I might as well.

No, what you need to do is accept that you're not going to finish your Masters before you waste any more time on it. Get yourself a job, and get on with your life
>>17252753
You're right. I feel the same way.

You could always become a politician.
